...Running Head: Managing Talent Case Study MT203- 01 Unit 4 Assignment Human Resource and Management October 19, 2015 Professor Maria Minor 1. What conclusions can you draw about the supply of and demand for labor at Yahoo? The conclusion about the supply would be for Yahoo to try to continue to do what they were doing when the old internet of Yahoo when business was booming but little twist to getting involved in the new internet. The twist of getting the new internet into their business would be the demand of their supply. Something that can attract the new generation especially since it’s all about the internet and the new technology. I also think that Yahoo should partner with other investors that will help advertise their business. Example would be like Samsung and Amazon Fire use google or have the google app already on their devices. So going into business with another company/investor can also help them as well. 2. What actions might Yahoo take to strengthen its internal recruiting? How might these efforts support Yahoo’s corporate strategy? Some actions that yahoo can take to strengthen its internal recruiting would be to advance in careers and to have the employees share their ideas. It states that Yahoo is seeking pathways for growth so since the employees already have an idea of what the company is expecting or may need; maybe promoting someone into office and having them share their ideas on what the company needs can strengthen the company...

...Trident University International Michael S. Hunter Module 1 Case Assignment ETH 301: Business Ethics Dr. Steven Gold and Dr. Joel Kostman August 8th, 2011 During the next few pages I will make an argument through utilitarian and deontological reasoning and explore the nature of privacy to answer the question; “Should Justin Ellsworth’s Parents have been given access to his email?” This is a very debatable question. It is my belief based upon my values and life experiences to take the position that his parents should not be given access to his e-mail. First, let us consider the utilitarian aspect of the question. Utilitarianism, as defined by the notes under the Module 1 home page, “the assessment of good versus bad consequences of an action and choosing the course of action that best serves the greatest good for the greatest number”. In the Ellsworth case there are many factors to consider. Positive factors include many interests by both parties. One example is the obligation for Yahoo as an Internet Service Provider (ISP) to honor their contractual agreement. Another positive factor for Justin’s parents is the ability to gain some additional insight into his personal life, something they may need for personal closure and the parental need to know more about their son’s life. A negative aspect of this case is the ultimate disclosure of communications that were private between Justin and another individual. If he meant for his parents to receive a copy...

Google’s Strategy in 2008

...OVERVIEW The number of people worldwide accessing the Internet to read breaking news, conduct library research, make consumer e-commerce transactions, use web-based business applications, and perform other online tasks had grown at an astronomic rate since the 1994 introduction of the Netscape Navigator browser. The number of Internet users worldwide had increased from about 360 million in 2000 to nearly 1.5 billion in 2008. North America had the world’s highest Internet penetration rate with 73.6 percent of North America’s population having Internet access. About 220 million of the 248 million Internet users in North America resided in the United States. Even though only 15.3 percent of Asians had Internet access in 2008, Asia’s 578.5 million Internet users made it the world’s largest and fastest growing geographic region for Internet usage. The growth in the number of Internet users worldwide and in the United States had caused a shift in how advertisers communicated with consumers and had allowed Internet advertising to become the second most common form of advertising used in the United States in 2007. Only newspaper, with 2007 advertising revenues of $48.6 billion, controlled a larger share of United States advertising dollars. Cable television, radio, and network television each accounted for about $20 billion each in advertising revenues during 2007. The prospects for Internet advertisers looked strong in 2008 with Internet advertising expected to grow from $21 billion...
