I am writing this letter to let you know what I feel for you. I've been holding my feelings back because I was afraid of its outcome...if it would affect our friendship, because I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable if you didn’t feel the same way as I do. I have been trying to get over my feelings for you since quite some time, but alas! All in vain. After a few days I just keep sitting there, thinking about you and how wonderful you are. I've never ever felt this way about anyone before and I can’t even explain what I feel inside. All I can say is it’s the best feeling in the world, but at the same time it’s not because we aren't together.

As time goes on my feelings just get stronger and stronger and I can’t hold myself back anymore, I need to tell u exactly how I feel. I need you to know that I care for u deeply and I am always here for you no matter what. You are the most beautiful and stunning girl I have ever laid my eyes on. I want you to know you're the person I think about whenever I'm in a bad mood or working long hours, thinking of u puts a smile on my face when nothing else works. You always have my unspoken passion although I might not seem to care. I just want you to know that I think you're the most beautiful girl in the world, i care for you, and I will always be here for you whether we are just friends or

...Bullying has had a dramatic effect on people across the United States. Bullying has lead to students and workers skipping and/or dropping out of school or work because they don’t feel safe. Students who drop out are more than likely to end up in jail instead of graduating and going to college to become doctors or lawyers or what they wanted to be before being bullied took over their lives. Workers who skip work can’t support their families or pay their bills. In extreme cases, bullying can lead to very severe psychological problems; possibly requiring hospitalization. Even more extreme cases can result in death by suicide because the person can’t handle the pain they’re being put through and feel at a complete loss, as if no one would miss them or people would be happier without them around. Physical bullying is when physical contact or intimidation is enforced to make the victim do something they don’t want to do. Physical bullying may only show damage on the outside, but only the victim and the victim’s family knows it affects them mentally too. A 2010 case supports this. Adam Casey was bullied and he ended up going to the hospital with a broken nose, a broken eye socket, and requiring 13 stitches. Casey felt like a monster because of the way he looked after the incident. His mother told the press that he has become very angry because of the incident. Physical bullying can cause a lot of damage to the outside, but in cases like Adam Casey, it can cause even more damage mentally...

Caera Red Yeye Effect: Why?

...Although it looks magical and somewhat sinister, there’s a reasonable scientific explanation for it. So what causes your blue (or brown or hazel) eyes to turn red in certain photographs? The red-eye effect happens when flash pictures are taken in low-light situations. When the flash is located close to the camera lens (as it is in most cameras), you may be looking almost directly at the flash when you look at the camera lens. The red-eye effect results when the light of the flash occurs too quickly for the pupil of the eye to close. The bright light of the flash passes into the eye through the pupil, reflects off the retina at the back of the eyeball and returns back out through the pupil. The camera records this reflected light. It appears red because of the amount of blood located in the back of the eyeball. The red-eye effect tends to be stronger in people with light eye colors, light hair colors and fair complexions. Scientists believe this is because these people have less melanin in their eyes. Melanin helps to reduce the red-eye effect to some extent in people with darker eyes, hair colors and complexions. If you have pets, you may have noticed that the red-eye effect can be quite different in animals. Animals have a special reflective layer at the back of their eyes called the “tapetum.” The tapetum helps to enhance night vision. Depending on the animal, the tapetum can cause a blue, green or yellow effect on the...

Chinese Cinderella Book Review

...leaving her father with five children to care for, including a new born. Four years later, her grandmother Nai Nai also passed away leaving her father no choice but to remarry. Soon after, her father met and fell deeply in love with a woman named Niang, who becomes Adeline’s new stepmother. Adeline’s father and Niang had two children of their own, a boy and a girl, as well as Adeline and her three older brothers and older sister. A year later, Adeline’s family moved to Shanghai along with her Grandfather YeYe and her Aunt Baba. As Adeline grew older, she began to notice that her stepmother treated her and her full brothers and sisters differently than her stepmother treated her own kids, leaving Adeline to feel unwanted and unloved. A few examples of this favoritism include their living arrangements, the food they ate, and fashion trends. In Shainghai, the family lived in a three level apartment, Niang, her husband, their son and daughter lived on the first floor, while Adeline, YeYe, and Baba, and the other children lived on a separate floor. During this time Adeline and her full siblings were only allowed to eat three tasteless meals a day with congee and preserved vegetables every morning. Whereas her half siblings were allowed to eat whatever they wanted, at anytime they chose, usually eating eggs and bacon for breakfast. When Adeline asked the cook about why she could not have bacon, she was told that “I have my orders; bacon is reserved for the first floor only” (p. 44). ...

...Cheska Jane G. Arriola Ms. Benetha Huera English 2 20 February 2013 Korean Pop invasion in the Philippines: a Threat to OPM? I. Introduction For the past few years, there has been a distinctive foreign genre that catches the attention of Filipino music lovers. Thousands of Filipinos especially teenagers go crazy over the so what called “K-pop” music. K-pop is an abbreviation for the term Korean pop which is continuously making a buzz not only in the Philippines but also in other parts of the world. Holden defined K-pop as “a musical genre and subculture originating in South Korea which comprises a wide spectrum of musical and visual elements” (144). If Korea has what they call as K-pop, the Philippines has its very own “OPM” or Original Pilipino Music. OPM is referred to as “Philippine pop songs, particularly ballads, such as those popular after the collapse of its predecessor, the Manila Sound, in the late 1970s, up until the present” (Basijan 18). The spread of K-pop music in the country resulted to K-pop invasion or what others refer to as “K-pop fever”. Unknown to some, this phenomenon is giving threats to the OPM industry since it affects many aspects of it. Because of the Korean Pop invasion in the Philippines which influences a lot of Filipino teenagers to patronize K-pop music, it poses threats to the Original Pilipino Music industry in terms of the album sales, organization of local concerts and the worst is, it might be more popular than OPM in the near future. II. The...

...FROM WID TO GAD: CONCEPTUAL SHIFTS IN THE WOMEN AND DEVELOPMENT DISCOURSE Abstract The Fourth World Conference on Women, to be held in Beijing in September 1995, provides an opportunity for the world community to focus attention on areas of critical concern for women worldwide concerns that stem from social problems embracing both men and women, and that require solutions affecting both genders. One of the main objectives of the Conference is to adopt a platform for action, concentrating on some of the key areas identified as obstacles to the advancement of women. UNRISDs work in preparation for the Fourth World Conference on Women focuses on two of the themes highlighted by the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women: 2 inequality in women’s access to and participation in the definition of economic structures and policies and the productive process itself; and 2 insufficient institutional mechanisms to promote the advancement of women. The Institutes Occasional Paper series for Beijing reflects work carried out under the UNRISD/UNDP project, Technical Co-operation and Women’s Lives: Integrating Gender into Development Policy. The activities of the project include an assessment of efforts by a selected number of donor agencies and governments to integrate gender issues into their activities; the action-oriented part of the project involves pilot studies in Bangladesh, Jamaica, Morocco, Uganda and Viet Nam, the goal of which is to initiate a policy dialogue between...
