...Hi-Ho Yo-Yo, Inc. 1 Hi-Ho Yo-Yo, Inc. BUS 644 Hi-Ho Yo-Yo, Inc. 2 First we must incorporate priority rules. Priority rules are regulations which determine in which succession the orders in front of a production line should be worked (Stevenson 2011, p. 712). In deciding what priority rules to acclimate, an organization such as Hi-Ho Yo-Yo, Inc. should achieve the following objectives: 1. Meet due dates of the customers if the product goes directly to them or the downstream operations if the product is but an input of another. 2. Minimize the time the order spends within the process including wait time. 3. Minimize work-in-process inventory which inevitable ties resources which can otherwise be used in more productive activities. 4. Minimize idle time of both machine and human resources. Given these objectives, Hi-Ho Yo-Yo, Inc. can choose from different priority rules and some of the most popular are as follows: (Retrieved from table 16.2, Stevenson 2011, p. 712). ...Choice that can change the life of one – and choice upon which the fate of humanity rests. Choice that can't be undone. Apart from that, the author seems to be asking that eternal question - what makes us human? Our looks? Our speech? Or perhaps that deep, moral “compass” that let us distinguish between right and wrong? Do we deserve the right to exist if we cease to be humans on the way? Questions, eternal questions. Questions with no simple answers… By the way, you're about to meet someone who was supposedly dead in the first part. I won't give you the name of course, but be ready for a surprise. However, this character is going to be veeery different from the first part, as certain events left a heavy scar on his psyche. However, when I say "realistic", I don't mean that nothing weird is going to happen. On the contrary, there are lots of very strange events that have no reasonable explanation. Metro 2033 also had some of those, but it was much more "worldly". Most of it was either mutants – or humans, and there were only a couple of things that couldn't be reasonably explained. Mysteries of Metro 2034 However, Metro 2034 book is full of mystical events that do not have any reasonable explanation whatsoever. It may be slightly embarrassing, I know. Several years ago I didn't like stories that weren't telling me all the answers because I was expecting to get everything "on the platter". However, today I think that a good science fiction novel absolutely must keep......

...optimizing our full potential. But having clarity of the different levels of consciousness provides us with the full context of growth. By knowing the other levels ahead, we are more able to comprehend how limiting our current level of consciousness is, what we should be striving towards and the highest end point we can reach. While we can debate on whether Hawkin’s is fully valid or exhaustive, the map definitely provides us a very good reference point to start with. For me, having this map of consciousness has been very helpful in identifying where I currently stand in my pursuit of growth, becoming more conscious of my reactions towards life events and what they represent, understanding the limitations of the level I am at and what I should do in order to further up my consciousness. Consciousness Defined What is consciousness actually? Being conscious is more than just being physically awake. It is also more than just being aware. Awareness typically refers to knowingness at the mental level, while consciousness is a state of knowingness that encompasses all mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of ourselves. To be conscious is to have awareness of one’s thoughts, emotions, own existence, sensations, and surroundings. [pic] Image © The consciousness we operate in is actually equivalent to the lens we use to see reality. The perceptions, beliefs, mindsets and values we hold right now are a result of the consciousness we are operating in. Whenever we experience......

...seasons, a total of six BLOCK-CHARGEs are required. If seasons change in the middle of a billing period, then the BLOCK-CHARGEs associated with each season must be linked to each other so that the correct demand for the billing period is computed. Costs are then based on the maximum demand found in the billing period, and are prorated on the basis of the number of hours each was active. If a UTILITY-RATE has a block structure for both energy and demand charges, the same BLOCKCHARGE may be used to model both. When modeling both, the energy and demand BLOCK-TYPE keywords may be specified in any order. Alternatively, separate BLOCK-CHARGEs can be used for energy and demand. This may be useful when the BLOCK-SCH for the energy and demand charges do not coincide. As previously described, each UTILITY-RATE can reference up to 10 BLOCK-CHARGEs. DOE-2.2 Command/Keyword Dictionary 2 BLOCK-CHARGE Command 06/06/98 ECONOMICS While KWH/KW, KWH/KW-LIMITSUM and DEMAND are normally used for electrical rates, they may be used for any fuel or utility. In this case, the meaning of KWH/KW would be (UNIT consumption)/(peak UNIT consumption). The same is also true of demand ratchets; they may in principal be applied to any fuel or utility. Note also that the demand period may be changed from 5 minutes to 1 day via the DEMANDWINDOW in the parent UTILITY-RATE. U-name is a unique user-defined name that must be entered to identify this command. Example input: "Win OffPeak" = BLOCK-CHARGE......

Pasan Ko Ang Daigdig

...Pasan Ko Ang Daigdig depicts the life of a poor girl who undergoes several hardships throughout her life and suddenly receives an opportunity to become a professional singer and improve her family’s life. Viewers may come up with one of two insights from watching the movie. First, one may be led to thinking that despite severe suffering and despair, there will always be a happy ending. For this person, the movie seems to reinforce the rags-to-riches archetype. Forget all problems at present; everything will turn out well in the end. “Mapalad ang mga inaapi.” Lupe, portrayed by Sharon Cuneta, has to endure different problems happening all at the same time – “working” as a beggar, living with a mother who doesn’t seem to have any faith in her, being visited by her abusive uncle almost everyday, demanding that they give him money for gambling, even getting impregnated by a man she doesn’t know. Her luck begins to turn around, however, when her talent for singing is discovered at a local singing contest. Things begin to go well for her, despite a few problems with her uncle and the death of her mother, and she ends up engaged to a wealthy man who also happens to offer her a record deal. At the end of the movie, of course, she chooses the man she loves and the father of her child, and they live a fortunate life, thanks to her singing career. Personally, I think that this perspective can be quite problematic, especially when one actually incorporates it in his/her everyday......

...Classic Pen had been the low-cost producer of traditional BLUE pens and BLACK pens. Profit margins were over 20% of sales. Several years earlier Dennis Selmor, the sales manager, had seen opportunities to expand the business by extending the product line into new products that offered premium selling prices over traditional BLUE and BLACK pens. Five years earlier RED pens had been introduced, which required the same basic production technology but could be sold at a 3% premium. And last year PURPLE pens had been introduced because of the 10% premium in selling price they could command. But Dempsey had just seen the financial results (see Exhibit 1) for the most recent fiscal year and was keenly disappointed. The new RED and PURPLE pens do seen more profitable than our BLUE and BLACK pens, but overall profitability is down and even the new products are not earning the margins we used to see from our traditional products. Perhaps this is the tougher global competition I have been reading about. At least the new line, particularly PURPLE pens, is showing much higher margins. Perhaps we should follow Dennis’ advice and introduce even more specialty colored pens. Dennis claims that consumers are willing to pay higher prices for these specialty colors. Jeffrey Donald, the manufacturing manager, was also reflecting on the changed environment at Classic Pen: Five years ago, life was a lot simpler. We produced just BLUE and BLACK pens in long production runs, and......
