Aero motors new compact car model is called the Horizon, because this name gives the impression of the new and improved future. The Horizon would be fairly easy to advertise for because the car could have a trademark picture of it riding into the sunset or television commercials with this new innovative thing and a classic feel good song could be playing as the car rides off into the sunset. Aero motors has been a proven successful company in European markets however, to become successful in the United States a decision needs to be made about branding strategies and whether the company will go-it-alone or will decide to begin as a partnership. Here are a few pros versus cons to help decide on which would be the best option. Go-It-Alone The new fuel efficient compact car would cost around $15,000 and $20,000 and be competing with the Toyota Camry, Honda Civic, Ford Focus, Chevy Cruise and other popular compact cars. The customers will be lower to upper middle class people who are looking for fuel efficiency to commute for work or school. I understand your concern to establish a swift and effective decision regarding this issue. Before I offer my advice, I want to share my synopsis of this matter based of the information I received. The budget cuts that were approved by the state have led to the elimination of important programs at the publicly supported universities in your state, and as a direct consequence, certain specific majors are no longer offered at any of those universities. However, these specific majors are, in fact offered at a state university in a neighboring state and your state’s institutions offer programs not available in the other state. An analyst proposed that an agreement be entered with the neighboring state to allow reciprocity on in-state tuition for those programs. Some are in support of the interstate compact, and others are opposed to the idea. This proposed solution will fall under the Interstate Compact provision, which is a voluntary arrangement between two or more states that is designed to solve their common problems and that becomes part of the laws of each state. Here are my recommendations for changes to fiscal and monetary policy. Fiscal Policy With the cooperation of congress, it would be adventitious to increase government spending as well as temporarily reducing the tax rate. Reducing the tax burden will see immediate increases in take home payroll and boost consumption and consumer confidence. Additional government spending will inject additional money into the money supply as well as boost consumption. (Stone, 2008) (Keller Graduate School of Management, 2013) Monetary Policy It would be ideal to utilize the connections and clout associated with being President to influence the Federal Reserve Bank to keep interest rates relatively low and encourage Open Market Operations to aggressively purchase bonds. Low interest rates promote business expansion, job creation, and consumer spending. Aggressively purchasing bonds will inject money into the monetary supply and promote lending. Because much of this recession was due to irresponsible lending, banks should not have a lower reserve requirement. Increasing the reserve rate now may prove counter-productive to the recovery, so for now it should be held at current levels. Many retailers now operate formats such as hypermarkets that perform many wholesale functions. In return, many large wholesalers are setting up their own retailing operations. Another reason why it is a challenge for hypermarkets in certain areas is because of location. In western countries such as India hypermarkets would have to be located within cities opposed to the outskirts of urban areas which would create a problem of location. “People have cars but it’s a nightmare driving back and forth,” Padmanabhan says, “So if you’re looking at opening a big footprint store in a city you have a lot of constraints, apart from availability of space and location, regulation and things like that” (Padmanabhan, 2010). Wal-Mart expected the Korean consumers to drive to its stores for price shopping as the American consumers do. However, this location strategy did not match well with the Korean consumers’ lifestyle and shopping habits. As the “youdecide” stated adapting to the culture of another area is a reason why the hypermarkets are not common in some places.
