Simply put, The Messenger describes to us what’s important in our day to day lives, it is about setting a course for an individual to follow, and about how we create our own stories in life to get by each day. This is very apparent in the style of the text, Markus Zusak, the author of The Messenger, pulls the reader into the challenges and confrontations one might face in their own lives, making the novel a relatable, satirical and entertaining piece of writing.
