Marketing. Small word, big concept. This is arguably one of the most important sectors of any business. Having grown up in a business oriented family with my father owning a small consultancy firm, I grew up to understand and appreciate the psychology and theory behind any business’ marketing campaign. I am currently doing a BTEC in Business and Marketing and it is aiding in the enhancement of my analytical and critical thinking skills.
My combination of Media, Psychology and BTEC Business and Marketing in AS helped me better understand the human mind when it came to decision making and the major influence that the media has on consumers worldwide. The relationship between marketing and media is indisputable.
In my time doing A-levels, my most memorable unit was creative product promotion where I got to understand in depth about buyer behaviour and where I got to create a small scale promotional campaign.
I have volunteered at Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Company as an intern to the General Manager, where I got to have a feel of the business environment and got to appreciate how much work has to be put in for the successful running of one of the largest tyre distributors in Kenya. During my period there, I got to see the process behind a successful advertisement and how much teamwork really means during the process.
I have adapted to living away from home as I have been in boarding schools since I was ten years old. I have hence acquired a great sense of independence when necessary. My main reason for studying abroad is that I get to experience life with people from all walks of life and different cultural backgrounds.
In my free time, I enjoy a game of golf where I get to interact with several like-minded individuals as I unwind. I also enjoy photography and I have won several school contests and have had my pictures used extensively in several issues of the
