For this blog entry I would like to discuss prenatal diagnosis case and the IVF for a postmenstrual woman.
Children are considered miracles and should be treated as a joy to have on this earth. The prenatal diagnosis case discusses a pregnant woman named Lisa, who wants the right to see the gender of the baby by using the chorionic villi sampling (CVS). Once she sees the gender of the baby it will determine if she will have an abortion or not. I personal think that Lisa should definitely not get this procedure not only because it’s against the prenatal diagnostic center policy but because she’s getting rid of a child simply because it’s not a boy. She should be happy that she is blessed to become pregnant while other women of this earth are less fortunate to have a child. I also think that this prenatal diagnosis center should not make up a different policy for Lisa or any other woman who has the same idea as Lisa. The policy will hopefully help to prevent abortions in the near future.
While it is great to have a child, it can take a toll on a woman’s body especially if she’s an older woman. The IVF for a postmenstrual woman case discuss how a woman named Emily, who is 59 years old and is about to retire from her job as a financial executive wants the chance to give birth to a child by the IVF procedure. I believe this is not a great idea. This woman could easily gain complications by not only carrying this child to full term but by also giving birth to this child. These complications could also cause Emily to die. Dr. T should not get Emily pregnant simply because of the complications Emily can gain. Dr. T should suggest adoption to the couple and also tell them about the different adoption
