The books are the same in some ways because both stories take place during the civil war. The main characters in both stories also share the same personality traits and experience some of the same troubles as the other, this may be why they seem alike throughout the two books. In conclusion, both books are similar but they also have some major differences. Charley the main character in Solder’s Heart, is from Minnesota while Henry, the main character in Red Badge of Courage is from New York.
