Managerial Analysis (BYP1-2)

A. What are the primary information needs of each manager?

Andre Agassi, Sales Manager. He supervises all sales representatives. The primary information of the manager should be reviewing the performance evaluation reports to makes sure the sales figures are being met. The targeted objectives are broken down to determine if there are any changes that need to be made because of their goals in order to get the highest profits. He also has to help his employees by helping with the work schedule and giving all incentives needed for his employees to be motivated.

Serena Williams, Technical specialist. She supervises computer programmers. The most important information includes overseeing employees to secure that the internal control systems are operating correctly to defend the company’s assets and looking over the vision systems in order to make sure that the computers are up and running. There are sufficient controls to make sure that the company is generating correct information.

Pete Sampras, Cost Accounting Manager. He supervises cost accountants. Cost Accounting Manager is responsible for accounting and finance. The cost accountants are responsible for preparing financial statements, internal control, accounting records, tax returns, and company cash funds to be accounted for.

Andy Roddick, Production Supervisor. He supervises all manufacturing employees. For the production supervisor, he has to establish production goals and standards. The responsibilities that Andy has is maintaining the employees and monitoring their production process to make sure that the quality and controls are realistic and effective.

Venus Williams, Engineer. He supervises the all new-product design teams. The most critical information for a manager is meeting the potential testing and drafting of the latest products to make sure there are no products displayed. If Venus was to make a commitment to the environment protection, it will make sure that all the new product designs are reliable. This way the company will be sure that the productions of the tennis rackets are met and it will increase sales.

B. Which, if any, financial accounting report(s) is each likely to use? The company manufacturer’s different type of products tennis rackets, tennis balls, tennis clothing, and tennis shoes. The company uses financial accounting reports to make business decisions and to keep track of a company's financial transactions. Well the financial accounting reports that management, engineers, and supervisors used are as follow: income statement, balance sheet, and cost of goods manufacture schedule. The income statement is to determine the cost of goods sold from the beginning and ending of finished goods inventory. The cost of goods manufacture schedule provides the breakdown of the costs that is involved to verify the cost of goods. Now, the balance sheet will identify the work that is in process, the finished goods inventory, and the raw material inventory. However, the financial reports are limited used by the technical specialist supervisor.

C. Name one special purpose management accounting report that could be designed for each manager. Include the name of the report, the information would contain, and how frequently it should be issued.

Andre Agassi, Sales Manager. Andre supervises all sales representatives.
The name of the report is the Sales data. The information that should be in the report is that it can increase or decrease within the whole department. The report would be applied on a weekly basis. The company is responsible for establishing the weeks beginning and end. If the company was to choose a certain day of the week to start such as Wednesday, Tuesday would be considered the end of the week. This way would let the company evaluate sales for the sales department.

Serene Williams, Technical Specialist. She supervises the computer programmers. Computer Tech is the name of the report. The information given shows how many computers were programmed in the length of a month or to 4 months. The report shows the information needed to stay informed of the other departments that are involved with the computer programmers. The computer tech report will give a monthly or quarterly report that is based on the information that needs to be shared.

Pete Sampras, Cost Accounting Manager. Pete supervises cost accountants. Cost Accounting is the title of the report. The information of the report would inform about the department and how the expenses are being kept on track. This report should be provided weekly. The report would help the department understand what needs to be down in order to stay on track with the goals of the department.

Andy Roddick, Production Supervisor. He supervises all manufacturing employees. The report is titled Manufacturing. This report will show the department items that are manufactured in a week and the amount of pieces are made in each week. The report will also show what parts need more attention and also how much time will be needed to complete the parts. The report will lists goals for the department and what is needed to get the job done. The report will be done once a week so that the department will be informed and be aware of everything that needs to be done by the next week.

Venus Williams, Engineer. He supervises the all new-product design team. The report is titled New Product designs. The report will let all departments know what designs are coming up in the following weeks or months. The report will make sure that all departments do everything that is needed in order for the sales department to increase sales for the company. The report will also show goals if how many designs is needed to be completed and finish each week so the sales increase. The latest designs will increase sales for the business and more customers. The report will be done every 2 days so it is based on the determination to achieve the goals.
