Introduction

The first thing to consider, a person is to be a Muslim is the sincere declaration of faith with which involves accepting oneness of Allah and Prophet Mohamed is a messenger of Allah. The correct acceptance of Mohamed as a messenger is to believe what he brought to us.

One of the fundamental article of faith in Islam is believing Messengers. Therefore it is very important to know finality of prophethood and messengership for all muslims.

Prophet Mohamed

It is clear that the Prophet Mohamed was the Last and the final messenger of Allah from Quran and Sunnah. Glorious Quran mentioned about Prophet Mohamed “Rather he is Allah’s messenger and the last of prophets” (Chapter 33, Verse 40).

“There will be no prophet after me, but there will be Caliphs who will increase in number." [al-Bukhari 4.661]

Allah's Apostle set out for Tabuk. appointing 'Ali as his deputy (in Medina). 'Ali said, "Do you want to leave me with the children and women?" The Prophet said, "Will you not be pleased that you will be to me like Aaron to Moses? But there will be no prophet after me." [al-Bukhari 5.700]

Furthermore, there are many other authentic hadiths providing clear evidences that Prophet Mohamed is the final prophet of Allah.

However some deviant sects claim that the above verse only mentioned that he is the final Prophet not the final messenger of Allah by using improper definitions of Prophethood and Messengership.

Finality of Prophethood and Messengership

In order to precede it, we should know correct definitions of Prophethood and Messengership. People have distinguished between a prophet (nabi) and a messenger (rasool) in different ways. One of the best descriptions is the description done by Ibn Abil-Izz on the commentary of Imam Ah-tahawi’s creed. When Allah reveals about the Unseen to a man and asks him to convey that to others, he is a prophet and a messenger. But if He does not ask him to preach it to others, he is a prophet and not a messenger. Hence, a messenger is a special kind of prophet. It follows that every messenger is a prophet but not vice versa. The office of messenger is higher than the office of prophet which it incorporates. On the other hand, the category of the messengers is a smaller category (in number) than that of the prophets, which includes the former and is wider than it. In short, as a concept, the office of messenger is wider, but as regards the number of its bearers, it is smaller. (Page 85) Creed of At-tahawi.

Anas bin Malik radi Allahu anhu narrates from the Prophet (Salal laho aliehi wasalam) said: “The Messengership and Prophethood have ended and there will be no Messenger and Prophet after me”(Sunnan Tirimdhi, Number 2274, Musnad Ahmed bin Hanbal, Volume No.3, Page No. 467, Mustadrak ala Sahihayn al Hakim, Volume No. 4, Page No. 391)

From the above descriptions we understood that Prophet Mohamed was the final prophet and the final messenger of Allah. However some deviant sects negated that prophet Mohamed was the final messenger or final prophet rather some of them saying he is a final prophet not final messenger others claiming that he is beautifying the prophethood by taking wrong meaning of Khatam.

One of such deviant sect is Ahmadi sect founded by Mirza Ghulam Ahmed Qadiani during 1889.

Ahmadi Sect

The Ahmadi Movement was founded in 1889 by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad , in a small, village, Qadian in the Punjab of India. He was born on February 13, 1835 in Qadian, India. Mirza Ghulam’s father was a chieftain of the Punjab and principal landowner of the village of Qadian. His father had been entitled to a seat at the durbars of the Mogul emperor, and this was continued for him under the Sikh and British governments. He also owned houses in other towns. He was died on May 26, 1908 in Lahore,India (Now Pakistan). Before his death he claimed him as Reformer, Promised Messiah and awaited Mahdi. < WELCOME TO AHMADIYYAT,THE TRUE ISLAM, by M. M. Ahmad, Ami r Jama ‘at Ahmadiyya, USA>

Ghulam Ahmed was noticed for his short memory bad temper and foul language he uses against his opponents and also a person loyal to English government. He also announced that they should obey to English government since they are the people in charge of them and also he informs to prey for English victory against their opponents.

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is a falsehood prophet

According to Quran (Chapter XX Verse XX) and Sunnah (mentioned earlier) it is clear that there no likelihood of sending any messenger or prophet after Mohamed (PBUH). Therefore anyone who claims after him is a falsehood prophet and liar. Furthermore, we noticed that all such liars are exposed for an example for human kind. Mirza Ghulam Ahmed is also such a liar who has been exposed in several ways during his life period as well. . He himself also claims claim that “If what I have said does not happen exactly. I am prepared for every punishment”. Ghulam Ahmad: AI·Harb·u l·Muquddas IJang-i·Maqaddas). p.188.

However, his claims are full of contractions and also many things happened against his prediction in his words against his revelation. Those incidents are clear proves for his falsehood prophecy and enough evidence for making him as a liar. Such incidents are many therefore I am here highlighting only few incidents as a proof

One of the incident is when Ghulam Ahmed had entered a debate against a Christian Abdullah Atham and after a long discussion without getting an edge to anybody Ghulam Ahmed announced that he had received a revelation on death of Abdullah Atham. On 5th June 1893 he informed that Abdullah AThan will die within 15 months from that day which shall be a proof for his prophecy and truthfulness. However after 10 days from date of expiration of fixed period of 15 months, Abdullah Atham send an article to newspaper mentioning that he is safe alive and he is still a Christian.

Another incident is when Ahmad Beg, approached Ghulam Ahmad for a help , he replied: "I shall help you if you marry off to me your daughter fw1uhammadi Begum" and later he announced that “God has manifested to me in the shape of a prophecy that the eldest daughter of Ahmad Beg will be married to me in spite of the opposition and resistance of her family. God wi ll marry her off to me. He will remove all the impediments. No one has the power to prevent this marriage”. However this also don’t happen despite of several plotting done by Ghulam Ahmed.

On 20th February 1886 when Ghulam Ahmed wife was pregnet he had received a revelation that “great son will be from this present pregnancy, The child will grow speedily, will set prisoners free and by him all nations will be blessed” however he got baby girl and she survived for only 5 years.

Another incident is

plague shall not afflict Oad iyan, the town where he dwelt. He said: "He is the truthful God who has sent His Apostle to Qadiyan. He shall protect and defend Qadiyan against” But plague enters there in its worst form and also it affected to his own house despite of his another wordings of “Indeed my house is like the Arc of Noah. Whsoever enters it is immune against calamities and misfortunes”. The worst thing is he is also died on plague.

From the above incidences alone will prove that he is falsehood prophet and what he brought are big fat lies.

Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) said: “The Last Hour would not come until there would arise about thrity imposters, liars and each one of them would claim that he is a messenger of Allah” (Sahih Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 88, Number 237, Sahih Muslim Book 041, Number 6988)

Conclusion

From the history of Mirza Ghulam we noticed that he was implanted person of British empire in order to mimise the threat from Islam and to divide them among themselves. Because british did many favours for them and he himself also called for the abolition of jihaad and blind obedience to the British government because, as they claimed, the British were “those in authority” as stated in the Qur’aan.

According to Quran Chapter 33, Verse 40 we are clear that Prophet Mohamed is the final prophet. But Ahmadi’s claiming that “Khatham Nabiyeen” where Khathan means ring and Prophet Mohamed is like a ring which beautifies the Prophethood. However, the clear meaning of the Khatham is seal therefore we cannot give preference over obvious meaning to indirect meaning. Furthermore, it contradicts many authentic Hadiths. Some of them are:

"The Children of Israel used to be ruled and guided by prophets: Whenever a prophet died, another would take over his place. There will be no prophet after me, but there will be Caliphs who will increase in number." The people asked, "O Allah's Apostle! What do you order us (to do)?" He said, "Obey the one who will be given the pledge of allegiance first. Fulfil their (i.e. the Caliphs) rights, for Allah will ask them about (any shortcoming) in ruling those Allah has put under their guardianship." [al-Bukhari 4.661]
