Reflect on your own sense of purpose as an actor and your capacity for transformation.

At last you are ready to put your work before an audience. This is an exciting and, for most of us, an anxious time. As public performance approaches, it helps reduce anxiety to remember that performance is merely one step in the process of creating a show, not an end unto itself. As thorough as your work may have been so far, it is incomplete until you have received and assimilated the contri­ bution of the audience. Go forward to the performance with a spirit of curiosity and eagerness; you don't really know what is in the play or the role until you have shared it with an audience, for it was written to live in the communal mo­ ment, and we can never fully anticipate or substitute in rehearsal for the audi­ ence's presence. In fact, you will very likely experience your work anew when it is performed, and you may be surprised at how different it may seem.

Emotion in Performance
Young actors sometimes think they must re-create the character's emotion in order to generate each performance "truthfully," but this is an exhausting and unreliable way of working. We may sometimes be tempted to admire the

That is to say, these playwrights intend for the audience to see themselves on the stage without fanfare – a stripped-down form of theatrical arts. Utilizar pausas y reducir la velocidad del discurso tiene muchas ventajas. La primera es la más evidente: el público entiende mejor el mensaje. Como hablamos más despacio, podemos utilizar menos palabras, y por lo tanto debemos ser más sintéticos y directos. Ya no rellenamos el discurso con obviedades o intrascendencias, sino que aportamos valor con cada palabra. ...Joseph Juran Joseph Moses Juran (December 24, 1904 – February 28, 2008) was a Romanian-born American management consultant and engineer. Dr. Joseph Juran is considered to have had the greatest impact on quality management after W. Edwards Deming. He is principally remembered as an evangelist for quality and quality management, having written several influential books on those subjects including the Quality Control Handbook and Managerial Breakthrough. In 1941, after discovering the Pareto principle by Vilfredo Pareto, he began to apply it to quality issues. In later years, Juran preferred "the vital few and the useful many" to signal the remaining 80% of the causes should not be totally ignored. Although his philosophy is similar to Deming’s, there are some differences. It attracted little interest until it was found to be the major metabolite of both acetani­ lide and phenacetin (2, 3) and in recent years it has become an increasingly popular substitute for aspirin.
