p2 Boomerangs: Goal is to have one that flies. The problem is that i need a boomerang. But why does it fly? why does it come back?
To obtain a boomerang i will have to make one. There is a lot of research on what makes one fly and how it comes back. I have truly never been interested in boomerangs before, and i am not currently but i need a grade. To me boomerangs see inefficient. Trying to aim a hunting tool (what a boomerang was first used for) that is meant to curve in the air seemed kind of useless. Boomerang Wiki definition: “A boomerang is a thrown tool, typically constructed as a flat aerofoil, that is designed to spin about an axis perpendicular to the direction of its flight. A returning boomerang is designed to return to the thrower. It is well known as a weapon used by Indigenous Australians for hunting”.
Ok so by definition boomerangs fly because: “Returning boomerangs fly and are examples of the earliest heavier-than-air man-made flight. A returning boomerang has two or more airfoil wings arranged so that the spinning creates unbalanced aerodynamic forces that curve its path so that it travels in an elliptical path and returns to its point of origin when thrown correctly. While a throwing stick can also be shaped overall like a returning boomerang, it is designed to travel as straight as possible so that it can be aimed and thrown with great force to bring down game. Its surfaces therefore are symmetrical and not uneven like the aerofoils which give the returning boomerang its characteristic curved flight. by wiki”
They also return due to the shaping on the edge of wings, a physicist article said “The returning boomerang is most commonly two wings jointed at angle between 80° and 120°, however, some newer boomerangs have more than two wings. The combination of spin and forward motion create an uneven lift over the wings. As the air flow passes over one wing faster than the other lift is created. When thrown correctly, boomerangs will return. The natural spin of the boomerang twists at right angles, which results in the boomerang's curving flight. Since the center of lift is forward of the center of gravity another tipping force is created, making the boomerang lie down during its flight. The combination of these spinning forces is called gyroscopic precession.” Over all this seems like a challenge of accurate cutting, with proper angles to cause the gyroscopic effect brought on by the rotation of the wings and the angel which each edge is placed.

Attitude Indicator

...rotation about both the longitudinal axis to indicate the degree of bank, and about the lateral axis to indicate pitch (nose up, level or nose down). It utilizes the rigidity characteristic of the gyro. It is gimballed to permit rotation about the lateral axis indicating pitch attitude, and about the longitudinal axis to indicate roll attitude. Once powered up, the indicator is maintain in a fixed position no matter what the aircraft attitude may be. There is also an adjustment knob used to adjust the wings up or down to align with the horizon bar. This allows adjustment to the height of the pilot. Preferably, the adjustment should be made when level on the ground. When the wings are aligned with the horizon bar, the aircraft is in level flight. If the wings are above the horizon bar, the aircraft is in a climb. Wings below the horizon bar indicates a decent. The upper blue part of the ball represents the sky. The miniature airplane wings (fixed to the case) represent the wings of the aircraft. In the past, the instrument has been referred to as "an artificial horizon". When in a left turn, the blue portion of the ball will have rolled to the right, as though you were looking at the horizon over the nose of the aircraft. In a right turn, the blue portion will have rolled to the left. The rotor, mounted in a sealed housing, spins in a horizontal plane about the vertical axis. The housing pivots about the lateral axis on a gimbal, which in turn is free to pivot about the longitudinal...

...budget rivals, reporting annual profit at the top end of forecasts and returning cash to shareholders. The upbeat assessment is in contrast to that given by Ryanair, Europe's biggest budget airline, which this month cut its annual profit target for the second time in two months and admitted it needed to improve customer service. Rival airlines have been struggling with high fuel costs and weak consumer confidence, sending some smaller carriers out of business while the likes of British Airways owner IAG and Air France-KLM have cut routes, leaving gaps that low-cost airlines have been quick to exploit. Over the last three years easyJet has added flights on routes where rivals have cut back, and introduced more flights between top business destinations. It has also added flexible ticketing to allow passengers to change their flight up to two hours before scheduled departure time, and allocated seating in an attempt to steal corporate customers. EasyJet proposed a full year dividend of 33.5 pence a share, 55.6pc up on last year, and a special dividend of 44.1 pence per share, making a total payout to investors of £308m. It said forward bookings were in line with last year but that its first quarter would be impacted by tough year-on-year comparisons due to strong post-Olympics demand in the UK and travel restrictions to Egypt. However, EasyJet still expects to grow capacity, measured in seats flown, by 5pc in the coming...

...The crash and subsequent investigation of Colgan flight 3407 was determined to be inappropriate responses from the crew when they encounter icing conditions which led to a departure from controlled flight NTSB (2009, February 12). This accident led to the consensus within the industry that first officers at regional airlines needed to have more experience. While it is hard to quantify how much experience is needed, the FAA felt that the requirements agreed upon in Public Law 111-216 were a good start. This legislation led to my research question “what is the best way for a newly certified commercial pilot to accumulate the required 1,500 hours” The four time building activities I choose to explore were; flight instructing, corporate flying, aerial advertising and ferry flying....

...not prevented the Professor from boarding the plane because most airlines in this day and age, check and see digitally if all passengers have boarded the plane before taking off. Thus his investment would have paid off as he anticipated. The reality of this situation is that in the game of connection flights, one should never schedule a flight so close together from transfer times. In this situation assuming that the flights are going to land on time and not taking into consideration that the weather or an issue with the plane can delay the time can seriously hurt your chances of making a meeting the very next day in a country across the Atlantic. Given that the year was 1995 and portable technology is almost non-existent (except for the function of making a phone call) he could not receive a text message or email stating what procedures to follow, he purely used his instinct to get to the next terminal. One should always take into consideration that even if they purchase tickets for first class, they are not guaranteed that the flight will arrive on time. Also that if they are going to make a flight to reach a country that is thousands of miles away they should schedule the flight to land a day or two in advance so that if a situation such as this one were to...
