If you could bring your dog to work what would your opinion be? Would you agree or disagree? A dog may be a mans bestfriend, but I don't think it would be right to bring them to work. How would you be able to focus and do your job at the same time? First off, you might be the person who loves dogs and everything they do, but maybe some of your co-workers aren't. As one of the employees said, "Not everyone likes dogs or is comftorable around them." If some of the co-workers don't like dogs or don't feel right around them, you might start arguments or other problems at work that might affect your job. The reason some people may not like dogs is because they are allergic or in the past they were bitten by a dog that made that person just dislike all dogs. If someone who is allergic is around dogs all day they can get sick and break out in hives. If a person is scared because of a past incident with a dog they could file a complaint at the job. …show more content…
Most dogs are very freindly. Sometimes they can be a little too friendly then they start jumping on you or licking you all over your face. Adopt a Dog

...Best Reasons for Adopting a Pet Having a dog is a wonderful idea, they bring companionship, personality and humor to households across the world. Dogs make good companions because of the friendship, unconditional love, loyalty and protection they give. I have decided to adopt a dog from one of my local rescue centers because there are so many unwanted dogs that deserve a loving home. Companionship is the number one reason I chose to adopt a dog. For instance, when you wake up in the morning they don't care if you have morning breath and no make-up, they will be there to greet you good morning. Also, you know when you come home everyday your dog will always be happy to see you. After a long stressful day they will meet you at the door tail wagging ready to give you hugs and kisses because you're home. It makes all your stress and worries go right out the door. Whether you need someone to cuddle with in bed or company on the couch watching a movie, your dog will always be there for you. The loyalty of dogs is quite amazing and they always want to be by you side. In fact, just walking from room to room in your home you'll be followed. Dogs will never be judgmental, they don't care about the kind of house you live in, the car you drive or what name brand clothes you wear, they will love you for you. You might be feeling emotional, angry, or even talking out loud to yourself about your horrible day, your dog will be there listening and wagging its tail. If you are late feeding...

...picking out a new puppy for your home. However, before you purchase a specific breed you should always do research on them. There are certain owners for certain breeds that require the time and personality needed to ensure your dog does not develop an aggressive personality. If you choose a breed that is known for having an aggressive personality you should educate yourself to the best of your ability on how to prevent your dog from causing a serious injury to a person or animal. As an owner you are the one responsible for your dog and if your dog does violate any laws it could cost you large amounts of money and possible jail time. The Center of Disease Control and Prevention reported that over 4.6 million Americans are bitten each year and according to insurance companies the average dog bite claim is around $30,000. Ohio has made a list of dogs that are the most dangerous and vicious breeds. This list does not mean you chose the wrong breed or that your dog is necessarily a bad dog, it simply means to be more aware of the potential risk these breeds have to inflict serious injury on a person or other animals. The top 10 dangerous dog breeds on the Ohio list are listed below. 1. Pit bull 2. Rottweiler 3. German Shepherd 4....

Dog owners would tell you how their best friend would snuggle up close to them for comfort and follow them everywhere and know well their routines such as feeding time and the time when their owners return from work. Experts say that pets are very therapeutic and can even prolong the lives of a human being, especially elderly or these widowed and living alone. Classical Conditioning

...Classical conditioning is defined in Psychology as “a type of learning in which a neutral stimulus comes to bring about a response after it is paired with a stimulus that naturally brings that response” (Feldman, 2010, p 163). Having to do with reactions and learning, the definition of classical conditioning can be abbreviated into the idea of involuntary behavior. The example of Pavlov’s dog illustrates this as the dog came to associate the sound of a bell with food, causing a reflective action of salivating even when the bell was not paired with food. Ivan Pavlov a Russian physiologist that never intended to do psychological research is best known for his intricate work with the drooling dog experiment that leads to his further research in conditioning. His experiment to demonstrate classical conditioning and how much a dog salivates when the animal thinks food is going to be given; Pavlov attached a tube on the dogs’ mouth to measure precisely salivation. What’s learned with Pavlov’s experiment is a conditioned stimulus to a condition response. From the moment we are born to the day we pass on, we are currently learning new things day by day. A person often learns through some form of conditioning in life. Some people associate learning with school or another kind of educational institutes, but we learn in different places and situations in our life. Learning is the result of the consequences of inappropriate behavior. Respect, discipline, and good manners are what we are...

...Topic Pet ownership and its benefits Research question: Are there any benefits to owning a pet? Animal Cruelty

...Animal Cruelty It’s dark, quiet, and you’re all by yourself. You whine and yell for help but nobody seems to hear you. The people you thought were your family abandoned you, left you all alone in a small confined cage. There is no place to use the bathroom, other than where you stand. The awful stench of your faeces grows worse and worse each second. The only food they left you with, you ate in the first day. Now the only thing keeping you alive is your desperation to eat and drink your own waste and the will to survive. You are a dog left to die by its owners, with the thought that you are lower than humans and have no real importance or worth. I have always been an animal lover and it has always disgusted me to see an animal being mistreated. Even when I am watching a movie and an animal gets hurt I always cringe with sadness. I remember I had these neighbors; we were good friends with them. They always wanted to have a dog but either they never had the money to take care of a pet or they just did not know how. That never stopped them from constantly having a dog. I remember two specific dogs they had, one was a mixed bulldog, Daisy, and the other was a Jack Russell Terrier, Jack. Daisy was such a beautiful sweet dog, but the way she was treated was poor. If they did not have any dog food they would feed her cereal and milk. They also considered spraying her with a hose while she ran around in the backyard a bath. The worst thing that happened to her was that one day...

Animal Abuse

...animal for no reason or showing it neglect. As shown in a group of statistics by The Humane Society shows that most abuse cases occur in dogs the most, commonly the pit bull. The Humane Society states that in 2001 abuse that occurred with dogs was around 13%, in 2007 it increased with a 12% jump to 25%, but in their latest study it was shown that 65% of abuse cases occur with dogs. As startling as this information may sound, it is a fact that society as a whole is becoming a worse place that feels like it is okay to hurt animals. In fact 68% of humans believe that the meat prices need to drop instead of worrying about the well-being of a cow or any animal. The ASPCA also agrees with what the human society has to say. The ASPCA agrees that the rate in which animal abuse is going is way too high. Animal abuse does not just have to be about physically hurting an animal. This could also mean neglecting it. An animal is just like any human. It loves being shown it is cared about and loved by the people it is around. When a human being just walks by the animal without saying such or forgetting to feed or water it, the animal feels as if it is not loved and therefore neglected. Leaving it hungry and wondering what it did to do deserve this, and how it can make their owner happy again. What can people do to stop animal abuse or neglect? Does the dog next door look underfed?...

Don't Bully My Breed

...animal rescue and advocacy group that is dedicated saving “pit bull” type dogs from animal control and kill shelters and placing them in foster homes located all over Illinois and Northwest Indiana. This non-profit organization works very hard to assist the public with protecting and caring for these breeds. The organization helps to spay/neuter, fight against breed-specification legislation, help other rescue organizations and individuals by posting images of their dogs on their webpage for viewers to see, screen adoption applications for other non-profit organizations, educate the public about responsible bully breed ownership, combat dog fighting, and help promote a positive image and understanding of all bully breeds. They are a 100% volunteer organization and rely solely on donations from supporters, adoptions, and money they raise through fundraisers which all go right back to the dogs. In 2014, this organization helped rescue, rehabilitate, and, when they were ready, find forever homes for over 40 bully breed dogs. The non-profit organization “Don’t Bully My Breed” provides pit bull advocates with a code of ethics, and they fully support and help rescuers/owners practice ways of being a good handler of this specific breed by providing guidelines for them. So the question is, how do we make an organization receive a better reputation and more awareness to the public due to the type of breed of dog they 100% support through a public relations campaign? “Don’t Bully My Breed”...

Animal Cruelty Laws

...Animal cruelty laws should be tightened in the United States because pet owners and companies around the country are still treating animals very poorly and using them in the wrong ways as test subjects for their products. Thousands of animals are abused every day and only half the time is something done about it. Animal cruelty should not be a small issue, it needs to be properly addressed. Animals that have been abused and neglected get stuck with long term psychological and sometimes physical effects. The animals become helpless, hurt and most times abandoned. Animals cannot communicate with humans like we do so we must be the voice to put an end to their abuse. Common animals that suffer from abuse, and domestic violence are...

The first way is offer onsite day care facilities. The study suggests that on-site daycare is not only affordable; it is in many cases profitable. Further, the study found that a majority of workers would be willing to contribute to the cost of employer-sponsored daycare whether or not they used the benefit. "There are several kinds of employers who typically have on-site childcare, such as high-tech and healthcare industries, and others who need 24-hour workers, such as airline reservation companies," notes Connelly. "The few studies that have been done on on-site childcare focused on those companies with highly educated workforces. We were particularly interested in another group of companies - those who weren't offering daycare as part of a whole package of family-friendly benefits or because of a corporate philosophy, but rather because they had done an economic analysis of their particular set of workers and had decided that on-site childcare would be economically beneficial to their company." The second way is pet-friendly offices. Not all companies are created equal when it comes to the acceptance of dogs in the workplace. Some readily welcome your best friend while others...
