Ifølge figur 1 kan man straks se, at danskerne er store tilhængere af EU i forhold til Tyskland og Storbritannien, mens Holland er de største tilhængere. Man kan se alle de lande der er taget i betragtning i denne figur, har nogle ens udviklinger i tilhængere af EU. Et eksempel er 2001, hvor der nogle dramatiske store udviklinger af tilhængere i alle landene. Dette udvikling kan skyldes den største terrorangreb der fandt sted i USA i 2001, hvor næsten 3000 mennesker mistet livet og derfor ser man kritisk på de fælles globale institutioner. Tilhængere udviklingen tyder på, at man hellere vil have at man stod sammen og hjalp hinanden, hvis sådan en angreb skulle finde sted i EU landene, da flere lande er stærkere end et land. Figuren 1 viser også at EU mister mange tilhængere i perioden 2007 til 2009, det var akkurat i den periode at den globale finanskrise ramte hårdest, hvor selv i dag kan man se konsekvenser af krisen. Noget der tyder på tilhængere faldet er, at borgerne i de forskellige lande heller ville have at man først genopbyggede sin egen økonomi med de penge som man sender til EU som skat.
Ud fra figur 1 kan man også, at Danmark er det land som har haft størst stigning af tilhængere af EU, man kan se at i 1995 var der ca.55% tilhængere af EU, men i 2009 ligger den helt oppe på ca.65%, som er en stigning på hele 10%, det siger noget om at danskernes tillid til EU er steget markant. Der kan være mange grunde til om hvorvidt tilliden stiger eller falder i et land. Der kan være nogle grundlæggende faktorer i det enkelte lande, som kan have påvirkning på om man ser op til EU eller ej, det er derfor meget svært at konkludere ud fra årstal om, hvorfor netop tilhængere procenten stiger eller falder.
Ved en lille kig kan man allerede se, at danskerne har et af de højeste tillid til EU institutioner i figur 2 i forhold til de 27 EU lande. Stort set har danskerne mere end 50% tillid til de forskellige institutioner ifølge målingerne i figuren. Overordnet set har danskerne stort tillid til retssystemet, partierne, parlamentet og regeringen, hvilket ligger til grund for at danskerne stoler på partierne og politikerne, de har tilliden til at de vil følge Danmark i den rigtige retning. Venstre og Socialdemokraterne er nogle af de største partier i Danmark og de er også tilhængere af EU, det siger også noget om at så må deres vælger også være tilhænger af EU. Set ud fra figur 2 har danskerne også tillid til nogle andre globaliserede institutioner, som fx NATO og FN, det siger noget om at danskerne er sikre på at disse globaliserede institutioner vil hjælpe danskerne når Danmark er i nød.
Danskerne sætter stor pris folkeafstemning og demokratiets værdier, det kommer til udtryk i figur 3. I denne figur kan man se, at 90% af den danske befolkning mener at deres stemme tæller for noget i Danmark, og denne holdning har de også til EU, hvor 77% af danskerne mener deres stemme tæller i EU. Denne store tillid kan sammenlignes med, at danskerne sætter stor pris på demokratiet og selv en stemme fra det lille land som Danmark kan gøre en stor forskel, om det er i EU eller bare selv i bare Danmark.
