Here are two different ways of losing weight. Weight can be lost many different ways, but two of the most well-known are dieting and exercising. People every day are worried about how much they weigh or how they need to lose weight, just feel better or look nicer. That’s not what it should be about; it should be about how a person will feel in their own skin. Dieting and exercise can help with weight loss. Dieting, a very well-known method of losing weight is simple. People will start watching what they eat and how much they eat, which can sometimes lead to anorexia. Which is definitely not the way to go, someone wanting to lose weight should worry about what they consume but they should never worry about how much they eat. Yes, eating too much will not help get rid of the excess weight? But they also need to understand that they need to eat to stay healthy. By eating healthier they can start to lose the weight they want taken off. This process will take time, but weight will come off. If you want to feel fuller start by eating vegetables, by starting with the vegetables the stomach will feel fuller and a person would not have to continue eating to think they are full. Also by drinking plenty of water, weight can be lost. Drinking water was once thought of something to gain weight, but now it is proven to not only being good for you, but to help with weight loss. Two more significant ways to help with dieting are: having smaller meals and staying busy. Eating 5-6 small meals rather than 3 large ones, the body will digest the food easier because it will be continually working. As for staying busy, most people say that when they are bored they eat. Instead of doing nothing all day and eating out of boredom stay active. While being active people are less likely to thing about food. Stay active! Along with dieting and eating healthier a person must also exercise. Exercise or staying fit will unquestionably help a person out. Exercising is an important part of getting rid of weight. Research has consistently shown that exercise and healthy eating combined are the most efficient way to control weight. Anything a person does to stay active even if it is just cleaning the house or running on a treadmill will help. Staying active is the key, it will help with the weight loss. Metabolism plays a very important role in the process of losing weight; most people do not have a very fast metabolism and need to work out. But there are lucky people who have a fast metabolism. Weight loss does not happen overnight, it needs to be worked on every day. This process will take time, but if you keep at it you will succeed. People need to understand that if they want something they must keep their focus on what their goals are. Not everyone will have a fast metabolism and be skinny while eating everything in sight and not exercising. This is just a dream if you want something then you have to work for it. Most people have to work at losing the weight and keeping it off. Exercising not only promotes weight loss, but it boosts brain power and health benefits.
What the author is trying to say is if you want something like losing weight then you need to set goals and make a list of what you want to accomplish first. Is your goal losing weight or watching what you eat, these both go hand in hand. You have to work your butt off for the things you want in life. People do not just hand you things you want it all takes work.

Calorie Management

...Calorie Management Over the course of this class and the few weeks that encompassed this learning process, we have learned several different conceptual applications for the integration of algorithms within the infrastructure of a company. The idea of using an algorithm or a program to influence or benefit our daily lives is an obvious choice for an application. We cannot use a program to cure cancer, diabetes or other wide ranging diseases, but we can use it to help with weight management, the mastery of which can lead to several different areas of improvement. By creating a program that will aid in the eradication of obesity, we can go a long way towards improving the mass health of the worldwide human population. The obesity rate in America has become an epidemic. According to Forecasting Obesity in America, obesity rates in America could be up as high as 86.3 percent by 2030 and in 40 years every single American could be overweight (Bialik, 2008). Those numbers may be a bit outlandish, but they are not far off given the current state of our nation. With that said, weight management boils down to a simple question of "Are we taking in fewer calories than we are burning?" and “Are we truly taking action to manage our weight?” We need to figure out a way to let individuals see the true results of their daily calorie intake and help he or she see exactly what affect it is having on their overall health. By helping individuals see those results we can hopefully help...

Eating Healthy vs. Prescription Weight Loss Pills

...Prescription weight loss pills Amy Kelley COM/155 June 16, 2013 Jessica Ptomey Eating healthy vs. Prescription weight loss pills The World Health Organization estimates that nearly two-thirds of all American adults are overweight. The National Center of Health Statistics recently found that 34% of Americans are clinically obese (10 Weight Loss Statistics, 2013). Those are very shocking statistics to hear about our nation. What we do with that information is up to us. We can accept the weight that we have as a nation or chose to lose it. Eating healthy and exercise are important for losing weight but there are some advantages and disadvantages to prescription weight loss pills. Here are some facts that can help you make the choice. Proteins are nutrients that your body needs to stay healthy. Protein is recommended at the absolute minimum of ½-gram per pound of bodyweight per day for people who do not get exercise and 1 full gram of protein per pound of bodyweight for people who are active in any way (How much protein do you really need to eat every day?). But do not forget about the b\vegetables. Vegetables, also, play an important role in losing weight. Put out a vegetable platter. A body of research out of Pennsylvania State University finds that eating water-rich foods such as zucchini, tomatoes, and cucumbers during meals reduces your overall calorie consumption (Easy ways to lose weight: 50+ ideas, 2013). If you eat fewer calories than you burn you lose weight. Instead...

...Metabical: Positioning and Communications Strategy for a new Weight-Loss Drug Q & A 1. Who is involved in the decision making process? What is the decision making process for Metabical? Since Metabical is a prescription drug for weight loss which can only be bought via a prescription, the overweight patients are not the only decision makers involved. The health care providers are also decision makers in this process for they are the ones who prescribe the drug. The consumer decision making process (J.Paul Peter & Donnelly, Ch3, p.49) for Metabical goes through five stages: a) Perceiving or recognizing a need. According to the case, 65 % of Americans are overweight. Many perceive themselves as social outcasts. Here Metabical ties in with a variety of needs in Maslow’s hierarchy of needs: the need for belongingness and love for companionship. After all no one likes being excluded. Exclusion can also negatively impact one’s self esteem. So it also ties in with the need for self esteem and self actualization since excess weight negatively impacts hiring, wages, and job promotion. b) Alternative Search: Once the need for love and belonging, and self esteem is recognized the overweight individual collects information from marketing sources like ads, or public sources like newspapers and magazines. The consumer might even ask his health care provider about it. He/she might even ask their overweight friends i.e. group sources who tried many diet drugs...

Metabical – Positioning and Communications Strategy for a New Weight Loss Drug

...WEIGHT LOSS ISSUES Excessive weight has become one of the major issues in today's world. This leads to all sorts of health riskssuch as coronary heart diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, sleep apnea and many more. Furthermore, a research has shown that death rates from cancer were 52% higher in men and 62 % higher in women with excessive weight than in people with normal weight (Eugenia E. Calle 2003). A large proportion of overweight people have been trying to lose their weight in every possible way. However, not every attempt was successful. Due to that, the pharmaceutical industry has been developing and testing a large variety of medicines that are specifically made to help people with weight issues. One of the newest drugs on the market is Metabical, a prescription drug developed by Cambridge Sciences Pharmaceuticals (CSP). Based on the results from clinical trials, Metabical has been proven effective for weight loss of overweight people. The question is how willMetabicalbe introduced to the market? PULL MARKETING The main idea was to advertise Metabical directly to consumers in order to increase the awareness of the product. This strategy was based on pull marketing where the purpose was to attract the customers and make them approach the supplier or seller first. It is not an assertive way of marketing in comparison to push marketing where a seller calls potential customers on the telephone asking whether they would like to purchase a product they might not actually...

Unit 2

...Gender in Language: A Global Evolution Rachel Walker Kaplan University SS 260-01 Gender and Society April 10, 2014 What is the difference between masculinity and femininity? There is a psychological way of saying that masculinity is a trait of the male species that emphasizes strength, logic, and dominance. Femininity is considered to be a trait of the female species that emphasizes weakness, emotions, and being submissive. This may be how a good number of individuals believe it truly is. However, in today’s world and through my discoveries, it is a lot different and I will explain why. I went to a few different places to gather information on proving that both males and females carry a lot of the same traits now days. I went to a gym, a beauty salon, and a coffee shop and the results was no surprise to me. What made me decide on these specific places? A gym is characterized as a place to “get buff,” which represents a good portion of the male trait of strength. A beauty salon is characterized as a place to get “primped,” which represents part of the female traits. The coffee shop really does not represent either trait. Both males and females come here and it was the one place out of the three where the species were blended rather than separated. I will describe my finding for each place. When walking into a gym, some may believe they will find more males than females inside. I had a hard time deciding just which one to choose. I went into a place called Planet Fitness...

Do you consider alcohol a drug? Should greater control be placed on the sale of alcohol? I consider alcohol a drug when it is abused as one. I have seen people use alcohol in social settings, and they have known their limits of when to stop. I do not think alcohol was put here as a drug; I think that the effect of it on people is what made alcohol considered as a drug. There are different effects of alcohol, some are losing/ gaining weight, losing appetite, and even losing people lives. People are put into situation where they can abuse alcohol because of the fact that it is a legal drug. Even though people have to wait until they are 21 years old to buy alcohol there are all different types of ways to get around that. This is where the abuse comes in because teens are sometimes uneducated on the effects of alcohol, so they tend to drink it because they see...
