Globalization trends in America and the World What are the main trends in globalization that changed America and the World? Goldberg (2015) illustrated an overview and macro analysis of some key trends in globalization is changing or will change America and the rest of world. Firstly, America great again, he argued that America's economy has experienced the least impacts of globalization comparing to other economies around the world. As an example, the percent of Gross National Product (GNP), exports account sequentially 52 percent, 32 percent, 27 percent for Germany's, UK's, China's economy and only 14 percent of America's economy. Although the U.S. still dominates the list of Fortune 500 rankings (with 133 companies), there 52 companies are replaced by that number of companies from emerging markets, for example, Huawei Technologies and Lenovo Group from China; Embraer and Votorantim from Brazil; from Mexico, Group Bimbo; Infosys Technologies and Tata Group from India; and some of companies from Russia, South Korea, and Taiwan (Fortune 2011). Evidence of growing number of these companies is their impacts on forcing the development of the countries' economies and their capability in providing products and services to developed countries or globally (Deresky, 2014). According to Zakaria (2008), he called this change "is the rise of the rest - the rest of the world". The United States is still the only country which remains the advantages of many "new age" industries, however, its traditional industries have been decreasing continuously. International corporations, institutions, and individual investors have been seeking for new potential business opportunities in emerging markets around the world - Asia region seems to be what they need. Further evidence that effects of globalization on Asia countries increase the number of emerging-market companies, these companies even acquire large businesses and long-time brands from developed countries.
