I was just elected chief. It was between me and this other boy named Jack Merriweather. He kept bragging on and on about how he is the choir leader and how that qualifies him to be a great chief. But I have met boys like Jack, he is the type of boy who only thinks about himself; the kind that never shares their toys. When he said he wanted to be chief I knew how the island would be run with him, so I knew I had to do something. The only other option other than Jack being chief would be If I ran as well, so I did what I had to do.
