Different personalities of team members influence team dynamics and performance. Varying levels of motivation can change team objectives, and work satisfaction can translate in how the team successfully or unsuccessfully accomplishes the intended purpose. A working knowledge of how these factors can influence a team’s performance is an immense asset for managers and team leaders to understand. This plan of positive influence emphasizes the prospect of increasing team performance by means of identifying how these factors are associated with individual personal attitudes, emotions, and values. This plan will summarize the way we plan to use these influences and provides conclusions related to positive influence in team performance.
Planning to increase a team’s motivation, satisfaction, and performance requires an understanding of how motivation drives team performance. When working on extended projects this becomes even more important as the team progress through the different phases of project completion. When individual team members are not satisfied with his or her job they are usually not comfortable with the team concept. Using the attitudes, emotions, values, and personalities of employees to motivate their team performance creates a cohesive and efficient team that will grow as the project progress. Dictinary.com defines attitude as the manner, disposition, feeling, position, etc. with regard to a person or thing; tendency or orientation, especially of the mind (dictionary.com).
