EVENT PROMOTION THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA:
Social media networking is a familiar term in present days; it is just the synonym of the promotions. No event can be successful without promotion as promotion is only the medium though which people will know about the happenings of any event or programs. In the recent days people are very much craze on the networking whether it is the social event or the business event the door to the success is the social media networking. Networking helps in connecting the people so that they can share or present their view or opinion regarding any event that is going to happen in near future. (Brown, 2008) Social media is the umbrella view where the social networking takes place in other word social media is the platform where the social networking happens. Social networking is the interaction among the people that is people interact with each other give their opinion, share their learning and experiences, interest, business in the social media through internet. Social media networking is very good platform for the event promotion. Event promotion can be looked from the different prospective like:  Promoting personality  Promoting local sponsors  Information on date venues/upcoming events  Online booking and free offers Every planned activity that is designed for others are the event and unless it is shared with the others any event can’t be carried out or conducted. So event promotion is very necessary to get the desired goal. (Preston, 2012) Event promotion is giving the positive massage about the goods/services that are being introduced to satisfy the need and want of the customers. Unless the people are given the information about the event that are going to be organized or any goods and services that are going to be launched in the market they should be promoted. Today there is competition among the service provider or the event organizer, so to be the successful and leading organizer it is very essential to adopt the good event promotion tactics. While promoting the event it should be easily understood by the target level and the community than only the people will know about the event so that they can give their view if needed actively participate in the event and get the benefit of the event which results in success of the organizer and long term benefit to the event organizer and the target audience i.e. win -win situation.

 Promoting personality:
Promoting Personality through the social media networking is very sensitive and challenging job. Social media has become the platform for the today’s generation to share their thought, feelings and emotion. There are various types of people using Social Media like for personal benefit, organizational benefit or just for fun. So it depends upon the people prospect how they consider the social media.

(Chambers, 2013) Social media space create a place where the people are interconnected who are beyond the family, relatives and the friend circle and shares the similar or different social, cultural and civic objectives. The people who are interconnected share the profile with each other so it is very important to present oneself, s/he should be very careful in designing and presenting in the network as profile not only shares the information but it represents you in the digital environment. People should be careful for promoting any event as it is directly or indirectly related with the personality of the people.

 Promotion local sponsors:
Local sponsor and the event is considered as the two sides of a single coin. Local sponsors play the vital role in promoting any events and vice versa. Both the event organizer and the local sponsor have their own interest and have the win-win strategy. (Building and Attracting Event Sponsors) The sponsor will get the platform for experimental branding, create awareness about the product/services, create brand loyalty among the target group, encourages for the trial of the goods and services. Likewise for the event organizer the sponsor will cover the expenses, increases exposer for both the event and the sponsor. More the exposer more will be the coverage of the event (Schaffer, 2010) Promotion through social media is the viral for both the sponsors and the event as it uses different social networking like tweets, Facebook post and LinkedIn comments that will promote the visibility of the company’s business and the events. As there will be number of the participants interacting in the social media if they like or are interested they will share the post on their wall thus the event gets promoted. (Weber, 2009) Social networking media attracts the similar group of people, as people fond of sports tend to visit sport site similarly people who are interested in music love to surf music event and so on. Thus the local sponsor will sponsor those events that are related to their product or services. For example: Adidas Brand (company) sponsors for the sports. Therefore local sponsor is very important for the promotion of the event as they share the cost of the event. Also the local sponsor get benefited from sponsoring the event as they can disseminate information about the product and services which people may or mayn’t be familiar with their target consumers/customers.

 Information on date venues/upcoming events
Many people are interested in different type of the event but they may not have the complete information about the dates and venues of the program so it’s the social media that makes the life easier as people will get the full information about the event in the social media. This virtual network/cloud

computing system have easier the people life as from any corner of the world they can update themselves about any event of their interest. No matter how big or small is the program the proper presentation of the event is very essential from the organizer perspective so that the people can know in detail about the program. (Kilkenny, 2006) For the successful of the program it should be well planned and coordinated through different processes on the different event, the marketing strategy and material can’t be created without the information where the event is going to be organized. With the change in time the event organizer should be able to promote its event information in different social media on blogs, twitter, Facebook. Being well prepared is half done so it is very important to confirm the location, date and time of any event. Based on the location and the date the market strategy and the promotion can be designed and circulated in different social media. Social media is the best and the fastest medium for promoting any media. It is not possible to reach to all the target audience or consumer individually to give the information about the happenings that are being conducted in the particular area. (How to Boost Attendance Through Social Media , 2013) Once you have finalized the venue and the content of the than we can open the online booking of the event, booking should be confirmed online so that the organizer will know the number of the participants. Also the organizer sometimes may offer different free samples for the event participants based on the support or business strategy of the event sponsor.  Online booking and free offers Online booking will help in planning in advance for the sitting arrangement, food, parking and so on. The organizer will know their audience or viewer so they can predict their earning and manage between their investment and cost. Social media network is the easiest form of the online which will save the time, cost which in return helps in promoting the event in the mass with the reasonable cost. Thus social media network is very effective means for the promotion of any event as social media is the hot cake in the today’s promotion context. But the event organizer/manager should fix the program content, its demographic coverage, venue, and time with the objective of the event. Then only they can approach for the local sponsors for supporting their program, which must create a win-win situation for both the local sponsor and the organizer. As local sponsor get benefited from sponsoring the event as they can disseminate information about the product and services, which people may or mayn’t be familiar with their target consumers/customers and on the other hand organizer will get the financial support, form the sponsor. Additionally, this indeed helps in the participation of audiences through online bookings. The interested audience can share the site among the friends circle, which results in more promotion of the event. Online booking will help in planning in advance for the sitting arrangement, food, parking and so on. The organizer will know their audience or viewer so they can predict their earning and manage between their investment and cost.

Social Media : Texting & Social Networking

...“In 2005, more than 500 billion text messages were sent and received worldwide. In 2010, it was estimated to be more than 2.3 trillion.” Angster, Frank, & Lester(2010). “47% of online adults use social networking sites, and 73% of teens and young adults are a member of at least one social network.” Angster, Frank, & Lester (2010). Electronic means of communication, such as emails, text messaging, and social networking websites, have become a worldwide social phenomenon. Do the stressors in our complicated lives or busy schedules leave us with little time to make a phone call or drop by for a visit? Do such technological advances in our society discourage face to face communication? Are individuals today feeling the pressures more than ever to fit in with their peers? Perhaps low self esteem issues, anxiety, or loneliness contribute to the need to feel loved or popular, such as chatting to a stranger on a dating website, or adding as many “friends” as you can on face book even though you don’t really know them. Or maybe these types of communication really have become a convenient and efficient way of communicating? In this paper I will examine the possible explanations for such a huge reliance on electronic communication, the potential advantages and disadvantages of such communication; including the effects of this communication on behaviour and relationships, as well as how electronic communication compares to face to face communication. The global cellular...

Impacts of Social Networking

...English 1101 27 November 2013 Impacts of Social Networking: Good or Bad? In recent years, social networking has emerged as a new resource for people to connect socially. These social networking sites have made it possible for people, who share the same interest without boundaries, to connect by eliminating political, economic, and geographic borders. Society as a whole must come to realize that although social networking has many benefits as a new way to communicate, it can be exploited and will, in turn, have negative results. Users must be cognizant of the dangers and should be able to identify so that social networking is working effectively for them. Social networking sites group people together into specific groups much like a small community of people. They allow freedom to communicate with all types of people from around the world and with people of whom they normally would not interact. Social sites help friends and family stay in communication with each other via online updates regarding their lives, photo uploads, and video uploads. They have truly introduced a new world to people by allowing consistent and constant communication with one another. On the other hand, these sites detract from live social interactions and have caused people to spend large amounts of time misusing them. Therefore, society must more closely examine the benefits of social networking sites and gain an understanding of how to use these sites effectively. A recent study conducted...

On the other hand, parents can control the problem by limiting texting apps to a minimum that could potentially become a harm to one's life. With the use of...

...adults used a social networking site such as Facebook or Twitter. As of 2012 the user count for Facebook was one billion people and for Twitter was 500 million people (Are Social Networking Sites Good for our Society?, 2013). These sites are used by simply creating a personalized profile for yourself. By using the tools provided by that profile you can connect with friends, family, and business associates; as well as share your thoughts, pictures, music or links with the world. It gives you the opportunity to meet people from across the globe who also shares in the same interests as you. Facebook is the largest social media site with one out of seven people having a profile and only 16 percent of users are in the original age range of 18 to 22 with 50 percent of users over the age of 36 (Are Social Networking Sites Good for our Society?, 2013). Social media sites have become so entwined into the lives of people across the globe that so many have come to rely wholly upon them. With such a reliance on social media sites there is a difficulty to foresee what might happen when they don’t exist anymore. If you were to ask twenty different people what would happen if social networking sites disappeared tomorrow, you would get twenty different answers ranging from a complete collapse of humanity to not much change at all. Society surely would have a difficult time repairing itself after the removal of social media sites, but it wouldn’t dissolve completely. Social media has become...

Hence, this form of marketing is driven by word-of-mouth, meaning it results in earned media rather than paid media. This paper contents five items: 1. Evaluate the reasons Social Media Marketing has become exceedingly popular among businesses of all sizes. 2.
