Course Information Prerequisite: None Exclusion: Native Speakers of Spanish, OAC/grade 12 Spanish or equivalent knowledge of Spanish Texts: Jarvis, Lebredo, Mena-Ayllón, ¿Cómo se dice? (10th edition) HEINLE CENGAGE Learning, 2013. Goals and Methodology: An intensive introductory course designed both to present the fundamentals necessary for understanding, speaking, reading and writing correct Spanish and to provide a range of opportunities for students to gain practical insights into the customs and cultural contexts of the contemporary Spanish-speaking world. In-class instruction combines weekly lectures with smaller-group sessions where grammar and conversation will be emphasized through a variety of activities and audiovisual and multimedia materials.
