of advantages of stand up meetings. The main advantage of these stand up meetings is the meeting is focused and is on topic. Due to the stand-up meetings the distractions are eliminated. The most important advantage of the stand-up meetings is that the meeting is short and helps to go back to work on time. When the meeting is focused and on topic then sooner you will come to identify the issues so that at the right time you can take the action. In the stand-up meeting, if the team members are able to answer the questions such as what they have done the previous day and what they have set up for this day to complete would help them to move on in a structured manner in order to finish the work faster. As per the stand-up meetings, it involves each and every employees of the organization to take part of the project as they will come to know the flow of the process and also helps them to know the work which is being done by each and every employee in the team.
Along with the advantages we also have disadvantages, the disadvantages for stand-up meetings are as follows: some employees in the team would search for reasons for not attending the meeting, for incomplete work which is required to be done on time. Another disadvantage is that it is difficult to identify the team if the employee does not regularly interact with the team which is referred to as physical difference with team

Gen/ Reading Comprehension

...Reading Comprehension Alexis Garrett GEN/105 Marilyn Hofer The main point of the reading material is how to turn a presentation from nap time to a presentation that people actually want to listen to. It covers eight points that will help turn your presentation from boring to interesting. The eight points are dig deep, avoid information overload, practice delivery, forget comedy, pick powerful props, minimize you, speak the language, simple slides. Using these steps properly can help you succeed in a proper presentation. Zahorsky, ). Covering each section; Dig Deep: in other words don’t drop all the normal boring facts on a slide and call your work done. Look deeper and find some more interesting facts that are not so common to be unexpected. Avoid Information Overload: this step includes taking out any irrevelvent information. This means all text that does not to be there as well as all pictures that do not pertain to the subject that is being discussed. Practice Delivery: To gain confidence and remove all nervous tics while presenting practice is the key. Practicing the delivery will also help with removing any pauses in the speech. Forget Comedy: This does not mean that no one can laugh, just don’t overdo it. This is not a standup comedy show. This is a business presentation. Soulutions Assignment

...Joseph Pechulis Kennon Rice Social Stratification 10 December, 2015 Extra Credit Solutions Assignment To briefly summarize my actual solutions assignment: I love stand-up comedy and movies. I actual perform stand-up comedy on occasion and I am a huge movie buff. I have always seen racist and sexist acts and jokes but never really thought of the impact on society they had. Sure, from a stand-up perspective, I thought that people just realized it was a joke and somewhat true. In movies I thought that most people realized that it was just a movie and a movie is scripted and staged. I now know, that as stupid as those jokes and scenes can be, they actually contribute to a large portion of the social inequality that occurs every day all over the world. So my main goal over all of my journal entries was to do as much as I can to not watch any movies or stand-up comics that played on the idea of racism or stereotypes. It was honestly easier than I expected to do. I have not watched any movies that play on these stereotypes. I was having a movie night with friends. They wanted to watch the movie “12 Years a Slave.” It won a few Academy Awards. I suggested that we shouldn’t watch it because it plays on the typical stereotypes that white men have the most control in society white black people usually take the role of some sort of domestic work I movies. They then asked me, quoting here, “Joe, you love movies. This is a great movie. Who cares what the subject matter is. Why are...

And to me that, is just a waste of money because I don't want to come to your show just to hear you repeat something you said in a movie. I don't think being stupid funny make him good enough for stand up. Because when I go to Kevin shows I know I'm going to hear some new material or a continuous of his pervious stuff. Like his material is mad funny it will have you driving home from the show still laughing in repeating something he had done said. In on top of that Kevin sold out Madison Square Gardens I don't even think Mike came close or could even come close to that. To think about it, I can't even tell you the last time Mike Epps sold out a...

There are better ways to communicate change to a organization other than having a quick stand up meeting. A meeting of this magnitude should not have the CEO arriving late and should not be down in this meeting setting. A stand up meeting gives a shock factor which would lead the way for chaos and confusion. I think this type of information should be communicated down management first then through paper. 4. 1800 Got Junk should update their systems and use an interactive tool that will update their reports and other requirements automatically. The beast was commonly enforced as a fearful being by the littluns in which Piggy would announce at the assemblies what the boys were saying about it. ...development (OD) practitioner. This paper will discuss the different strategies of change and how to adjust them to meet the organization’s needs. The strategies discussed are structural and behavioral and how to change these in order to get the most out of the organization. Discussed are the interventions that would be utilized like employee empowerment, team building, role analysis/negotiation, stress management and third party intervention and how they will affect the organization. Finally, how to determine the success or failure of the proposed intervention. This is determined by utilizing anonymous surveys, and team meeting where they can share their results with other departments. The Organization’s Diagnosis The first area analyzed was how the organization was divided and what their relationship was to each other. Simmons Laboratories is divided up by main project heads who then oversee several projects. Some of these sections have a project head/team leader who oversee, several scientists, lab personnel, mathematicians, and secretaries (Brown, 2011). The team leader reports all finding to the main project head. However, according to the textbook the organizations self-managed work team violates the principle of unit of command (Brown, 2011). I Believe

...I Believe I believe everyone should stand up for what they may believe in. Standing up for what you believe in can get you many places in life. It is a great thing to do even if you are standing alone. Because if you are the only one speaking out there are many more sitting in silence. I decided to stand up for my teammates this year because my coach was giving unfair treatment to her players. She had been ignoring them and rolling her eyes at them. And being one of the many on the team I decided to ask her about it and all she could was give me an answer that had nothing to do with my question of “What do we need to improve on as a team to get proper treatment?” Her response was “try harder.” Well we were trying our hardest n practice to get her attention while the people she joked around with jogged during punishment and laughed with her. So I decided to take matters into my own hands. I went and talked to the head coach who set up a meeting with all three of us. The meeting went well and my coach cleaned up her attitude a little bit. But now the head coach is not in anyone’s favor on the team. On our playoff shirts she wrote “OLC” on the back which stood for our last chance. What she was clearly implying was that we do not have a chance and she has no faith in us. And having a coach who doesn’t have faith in you makes you wonder if she even cares about the team. And on top of that she almost got the whole basketball team killed by parking on the railroad tracks. We thought...
