The Jungle Book Disney has the ability to make children out of adults and turn old stories in to movies that are memorable for all. From Snow White to Frozen, Disney has been capturing audience’s attention no matter what age group. One of the most notable films is the Jungle Book. The Jungle Book is an amazing story that takes viewer through the life of Mowgli who was a boy that was raised by wolves. The young boy must leave from his wolf family in order to escape the man-eating tiger named Shere Khan. With the Indian boy's fellow companions Bagheera and Baloo the audience experiences a great and positive story, fun songs, amazing animations for the time, and characters that will always be closed to the heart. The Disney version of Rudyard Kipling’s novel takes the audience to experience a great story and makes it into a family friendly animated movie. The story of a young Indian boy named Mowgli, who is a little boy that was separated from his village and was saved by his wolf father from the evil tiger Shere Khan. The boy was raised as a wolf and about 10 years later he grew up and learned that he couldn’t stay because soon Shere Khan would find him. Mowgli teams up with his panther friend Bagheera who will help him journey back to his village. On the way back the two protagonists run into another man-eating beast, Kaa the snake. Both Bagheera and Mowgli eventually meet up with a fun and loving bear named Baloo. Together they traveled to the human village and both Bagheera and Baloo protect the young Mowgli from singing evil animals in the Indian jungle. Eventually the young Indian boy runs off on his own because he doesn’t want to come back to the man village. When Mowgli was on his own he learns the importance of friendship when his good friends Bagheera and Baloo rescue him from all the situations that could have killed the child. On the way to the man village there is a good amount of childish comedy that takes viewers to a nice and happy place. In time Mowgli makes it back to his village with the help and motivation of his jungle friends and their songs of happiness.
Songs are a great way to get audiences to get involved with the film, especially with the film was created with a younger target audience. In the movie the Jungle Book viewers are treated with 22 catchy and easy songs. From the creation and release of this movie in 1967 any child who saw it can easily recognize the songs like “I want to be like you” and “The Bare Necessities” being classics. Some of the songs deliver a good and positive message that can be applied in all viewers' lives. The songs that were written for this movie are easy for the younger audience to keep up with and sing along with. The music and songs in the movie are good for all ages to watch and enjoy and even though this movie came out in 1967, the music is unmistakable to anyone who has watched the movie.
In 1923, Walt Disney started making his world famous cartoons, it was 44 year later when The Jungle Book was released to the theaters. At this time the age of technology was growing and evolving into more and more complex structure than it was in 1923. For the time animation and drawing technique was still advancing and with the implement of color into the animations made the movie amazing. With younger audiences, the color of the animation really keeps their attention to the movie. Compared to Disney's first animation, Steamboat Willie, where there was no color and was filled with simple sounds and music, The Jungle Book, has color and amazing sound. The movie is able to capture the great voices of the characters and easily match it up with the amazing drawing skills of the animators at Walt Disney Studios. The characters drawn in a great way and have great actors voicing behind them.
Characters are one of the most important part to any story, movie, or book. The protagonist in The Jungle Book really makes the story that it is. The main character Mowgli plays a good role in the story allowing the younger viewers to relate with him and his young age. The kids who watch the movie can understand, love the child like comedy, and enjoy all the songs that the characters sing together. The other two key protagonist, Bagheera and Baloo, really make things easier for the parental viewers to relate too. When watching the movie any of the older audience can see that Bagheera and Baloo are more like parents to the young Mowgli. They protect Mowgli from danger and teach him valuable life lessons. With the protagonist appealing to both children and parents, The Jungle Book makes this a great family friendly movie. On the other hand, there are the antagonist in the movie like King Louie the orangutan, Kaa the snake, and the main antagonist Shere Khan the tiger. When looking at these characters the viewer at first see the trickery of the antagonist. Also all these characters are looking to do harm to the young Mowgli but again the parent figures of Bagheera and Baloo come to prevent any dangers. Movies are the one of the most modern ways of telling stories of books or history or even original works. Many things make movies great or poor including the character, the story, the music, the style, and so many other factors contribute. There are very important aspects to The Jungle Book the story, the characters, the animation, and great songs and music. Within this movie, all these aspects come into play and make it a great-animated film. The movie has great characters that audiences of all ages can easily relate too. There is great aspects of the upbeat music and songs that are easy to sing along to and are very catchy. Animation techniques and the animation itself is ahead of its time. Walt Disney Studios created a great up beat version of the original story recreated the story, based off the book that was published in 1894. Overall The Jungle Book is one of the greatest animated movies that a family can see.
