1.1 Why is Charles Dickens so famous?
He wrote stories of events happening in the times he lived. He ultimately became quite famous for these stories. Why he wrote them is most likely for the same reason you have asked the question. He wanted answers to the questions of his day. Might be hard for you to think that there was no telephone, no television, no internet, few books and the books that were there were expensive and only of any good to you if you had been to school and could read. Charles was a writer and was educated and compelled to write what he saw & witnessed regardless of whether or not anyone would ever read his written word.
