Differences in Humanities and Other Modes of Human Inquiry
Define the term humanities. The definition of Humanities is described as the study of people processing and documenting, the human experience. Since humans have had the ability, we have utilized philosophy, literature, art, religion, history, language, and music to understand and record the world in which we live. The symbols of expression have become some of the subject matters that usually fall under the umbrella of humanities. Gaining knowledge of the records of human experiences, gives one the opportunity to feel a connection to those who came before our time, as well as the contemporaries. (Stanford Humanities).
Distinguish the humanities from other modes of human inquiry and expression. Humanities are described as academic disciplines that study the human condition, by using methods that are largely analytic, speculative, or critical. It differs from others that utilize an empirical approach, or evidence or consequences that have the ability to be observed by senses. (Weegy.com).
: List a current example of each type of the following humanities and explain why each example you give reflects current developments in politics, socioeconomics, and technology * Art-In today’s development in art it includes: “digitization and computerized/graphic arts as a major form of expression.” (weegy.com). This development was made possible by technology advancements. For example, first computers, then higher levels of software, then digitization, and this allowed manipulation of massive amounts of data. (weegy.com). * Music-In today’s music industry, reflects current developments in politics, socioeconomics, and technology because it is an increase in finances for the economy, allowing the filmmakers, etc., to produce more technology, such as videos, etc., and they too provide a mass amount of finances for the economy. Also, this gives those in politics interests in what the interests are of the individuals/groups, or performers, etc., who have a major impact on society and also provide contribution to their campaigns. * Architecture-In the discussion of agriculture, the current developments in politics, socioeconomics, and technology are as followed: In the world today, there is an estimate of 800 million people who do not have enough to eat, if anything to eat at all. This has been a negative impact that has plague the political field, socioeconomically, because this raises questions as to why there is not enough funding to help, etc. As for technology, as it grows, there are safer ways for society to contribute to the cause, for example, the internet and locating trusted sites, which also have protection for one’s personal information. (Leisinger, Klaus, M.). * Philosophy-In dealing with philosophy, has been the history of the developments because they all have been inspired by the old great, late philosophers of the past. * Literature- In dealing with literature, the current developments in politics, socioeconomics, and technology are as followed: There has been a tremendous growth in technology, politics, and socioeconomics, through the development of e-learning. This is a computer application that allows people to access and handle word application, internet knowledge, etc. (Kamdar, Maulik). In conclusion, all of these developments are all crucial to the determination of the nature of good (s). Sometimes this is a rhetorical process, which individuals try to convince others that their vision of the good (s), is best for all. Other times individual artists or writers present a vision of the good in order to open conversation and deliberate a way to get understanding of goals. Motivation like this is not always conscious practice, but it is only when they are put in a conscious and communicable way, that they become important to society. (Gillespie, Michael Allen).

His work and cultural contributions can be classified in both the Age of Modernism and the Age of Pluralism for the 20th Century Genius Award. The following examples will include a synopsis of the life and times of Albert Einstein, A survey of the ideas and works recognizing the reflections of his genius, and an appraisal of his impact on the arts and culture. Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1879 to Hermann and Pauline Einstein a scientifically minded family, who were non-practicing Jews in Ulm, Wurttemberg Germany. As a child, he was very curious, and lively. Albert attended a Catholic elementary school, and his mother insisted for him to take violin lessons. Although he detested the lessons, and later on decide not to continue with them, he would later on find an appreciation and great comfort in Mozart’s violin sonatas. At the early age of five, Albert was fascinated by complex scientific and mathematical concepts at a very early age. Hermann Einstein shows his son a pocket compass, and Einstein with his sense of wonder, and curiosity realizes that something in “empty” space controlled the needle; he later on describes the experience as a revelation of his life. As You Like It Summary

...Born May 7, 1861, in Calcutta; died there Aug. 7, 1941. Indian writer and public figure. Son of Debendranath Tagore. Tagore studied in Calcutta, where in 1875 he published his first work, and at the University of London. While in England from 1878 to 1880, he continued to write in his native Bengali, the language he was to use in all his works. He also composed songs. A musical drama he wrote during this time, The Genius of Valmiki (1881), combined national Indian melodies with popular Irish tunes. Tagore’s collection of verse Evening Songs (1882) is marked by a preponderance of pantheistic motifs. Three later collections, Morning Songs (1883), Pictures and Songs (1884), and Sharps and Flats (1886), as well as a play, Nature’s Revenge (1884), reflect the author’s youthful optimism. Such optimism mingles with a strong condemnation of tyranny in the poem The Shores of Bibhi (1883) and the historical novel Raja the Sage (1885). Between 1884 and 1911, Tagore served as secretary of Brahmo Samaj, a religious reformative and educational society. Tagore created some of his best short stories in the 1890’s. In the same period he wrote the poem collections Manasi (1890) and The Golden Boat (1893), the poems The Gathering of the Harvest (1896) and The Grains (1899), and a cycle of philosophical plays beginning with Raja and Rani (1899). He also edited a socioliterary periodical, Shadhoda, in which he published most of his literary works, as well as articles on political, social, and literary...
