Today I have viewed Amanda Palmer’s speech given on a Ted talk video on YouTube. She has done an amazing job given the topic she has talked about. I will take about her overall presentation on her organization, delivery, and advice I have given her.
The speech I have viewed about Amanda Palmer sounded and looked well- rehearsed because she knew what she was talking about throughout her speech and she didn’t pause to try to remember what she was going to say next. She also didn’t say and um’s and uh’s very much throughout her speech presentation. She also had a guideline on what to say with her visual aids and maintained eye contact. Palmer’s organizational pattern was clear because I would know when she would move onto another point throughout her speech. The transitions between the main points were evident because she first talked about her job, then moved into her band, and then to the real purpose of the art of asking. Palmer did accomplish what she needed to in her introduction by getting the audience’s attention by standing on top of a box with a flower explaining how she earned for a living as relating to the audience. She also had a situational audience analysis where the size of the audience was big and therefore had a good amount of visual aids throughout her presentation. Palmer didn’t preview on her many points, but rather went with telling her many points throughout her speech presentation.
