The defendant acknowledge that he was shoplifting at both locations; ACME market in Ventnor and ShopRite in Galloway, on different occasions. He also recognizes that he was able to leave ShopRite with the unpaid items, and was later charged. However, at the ACME market an employee try to stop him, and he broke away from the employee leaving with the stolen goods.
ACME store video surveillance footage showed the defendant selecting multiple items, and placing them in two reusable ACME shopping bags. Then, an ACME employee, approached the defendant, who shoved and pushed the victim to the ground and exited the store. The defendant left with both bags without paying, and the estimated value of the stolen goods was approximately $230.24. No injuries
