his paper is devoted to the issue of singe parenting as one of the important family problems. A single parent is a parent who lives with one or more children without the second parent. Usually the definition of single parenting depends upon the local laws, but there are other cases as well, for example if a parent is left alone after the divorce, after another parent just leaves the family or the child, if the second parent is put to the jail or is dead. It is not necessary that the single parent is natural mother or father of the child, some people choose to adopt a child or become a parent through artificial insemination or just take care of a child, who was left by his natural parents. The household of a single parent differs a lot from a usual household. Certainly all situations are unique, some people choose the path of single parenting consciously, and some are made to bring the child up alone. There are a lot of negative moments about single parenting, there are some positive as well. For example, if a person takes care of a child alone, he has always the freedom to choose and to make all the decisions on his own. On the other hand making decisions can be really hard sometimes and really often people feel the need for somebody’s support and a piece of advice. Usually single parents do not have enough time to do all the house work and thus involve children from the early age in doing chores. Single parents have to discuss most of house matters that should be actually solved with another parent, with their children like with adults. In case the other parent is alive and has the wish to see the kid, they all have to get used to taking the children from one home to another.
At any rate single parenting is rather hard for the parent, as a child needs attention and care all the time and parents need breaks for rest.
We can not consider single-parent households a...

Self-Discovery in She's Come Undone

...Ellason Boyle ENG 3U Mr. Zago January 9 2012 Self-Discovery in ‘She’s Come Undone’ Self-discovery, by definition, is the act or process of achieving understanding or knowledge of oneself or, in other words, identifying your own individuality. To understand who you are is extremely important if one wants to live life to the fullest and enjoy every moment. In reality, people struggle every day to uncover who they really are and for Ms. Price, this was no exception. Her life was not always stable which made her journey to discover herself extremely strenuous. Dolores Price, the main character in ‘She’s Come Undone’ by Wally Lamb, had many traumatic events that occurred during her life that persuaded her to discover who her inner self was as well as therapy and significant symbols that meant a lot to her through her journey. To begin with, Dolores Price had to overcome many traumatic and negative memorable events that life supplied her with. The thing that started it all was the miscarriage of her little brother Anthony and the separation of her mother and father. She, like a normal child caught in the middle of their parent’s separation, feels like the separation was her fault and that she could have prevented it. Another scarring event that she was forced to endure was being raped by her neighbour, Jack Speight, in eighth grade. After being raped Rita, Jack’s wife, has a miscarriage and Dolores, again, thinks that this is her fault. These lead to the other major......

What Dreams May Come

...Julio Castro Phil Mayfield English 100 11:45 October 22 2014 What Dreams May Come. Once true love makes its way into our hearts, and we know for sure who do we want to spend eternity with, there’s nothing that true love can’t overcome; the need to be with that special someone becomes essential, and in the movie What dreams may come, produced by the director Vincent Ward and written by Ron Bass, they shows us how strong the bond between two soul mates can be. It takes us on a journey where Chris Nielsen, played by Robin Williams, is willing to spend the rest of his life in hell, just to be able to hang with his wife for eternity. The movie begins with the encounter of the two soul mates, both who were spending their time on their sailboats, one of which had a red sail symbolizing seduction, love, sexuality, but also sacrifice and danger, the boat was owned by Annabella Sciorra who is played by Annie Nielsen , who happens to be Chris’ wife later on the movie. They strongly fall in love with each other and they had 2 children, Ian and Marie , played by Josh Paddock and Jessica Brooks Grant, both who died after being involved in a collision and the tragic event destroys Annabella and Chris’ life by leaving an empty space in their heart. The quietness of their house and the uncertainty of their future made Anabella have a mental breakdown and after going through a rough path, his husband (who is a doctor), dies in an car collision accident; while he was trying to save someone...

My Fathers House

...“Faster, faster… come on!” I urged under my breath, pedaling furiously. A thunderstorm had started, I was soaked to my skin, my stomach was growling and yet my bicycle refused to move faster. Getting back home was quite literally an uphill task as it was on top of a hill, sitting like a cream colored cherry on top of a green colored hill. The rain was not helping my quest to get back home in time for a nourishing dinner and a full night’s sleep, both of which had been recently denied to me due to the pressures of my new job. Avoiding the puddles formed in the potholes of the road, I made my way forward slowly but steadily. Thoughts of my father crept into my mind. His smile, his booming laughter, the fierce frown when someone, anyone, told him what to do were my most vivid memories. He had departed for his next life now; a tumor in his lungs made sure of that. Even though it had now been a year since his death, I still missed him. My mother had left me and my father when I was a mere 3-year old girl, impressionable and then, heart-broken. I have never trusted anyone completely ever since. I huffed and puffed up the hill and when I was close enough, I saw something which made my blood run cold. A streak of lightning. A fire. On the very top of the hill. I cycled like I had never cycled before. Memories of my father building the house swirled into my mind, too fast to separate. Panic seized my throat. I could not let it burn down. It was my only tangible...

But there is training available each month on what is needed to be worked on. * Delivery: * The best method for conducting this training would be to have in-services aka training classes. Jamaican Cinema

...Jamaican Cinema (focus – The Harder They Come (Perry Henzell, Jamaica, 1971) ‘Representing Jamaican culture on the screen, how The Harder They Come triggered the development of Jamaican cinema.’ The Harder They Come was the first movie made in Jamaica, directed by a Jamaican and with a Jamaican theme. The film opened the country’s eyes to the creation of film and the industry that surrounds it. It also gave the world (particularly the West) its first filmic taste of the cultural, social and historical issues of 20th century Jamaica. It was not only successful in the eyes of its audience but also in the eyes of film critics worldwide. Geoff Parker writes “Indisputably the greatest Jamaican film ever made, The Harder They Come is also one of the finest films yet made about the third world.” (2001). At first glance Perry Henzell appears to be using a narrative to document Jamaican roots Reggae music (especially that of Jimmy Cliff); but although The Harder They Come went a long way towards creating a huge global Reggae following the film had many other underlying issues. Even though most critics (Cham, Parker, Yearwood and others) discuss the film as the one that popularised Reggae music in the West it is the task here to illustrate that The Harder They Come brought Jamaican society and its culture into cinematic visibility. Cinema in Jamaica had only a western and predominantly Hollywood face until the release of The Harder They Come, but the meta-filmic self......

The Come Back

...Brenton Drake College writing Mrs. Payeur 3/5/14 The Gain though Pain It was a normal day in June the summer before my senior year of high school. I had just arrived home from a work out with the football team and my dad was calling my name. I ran up the stairs. He handed me the phone and said it was Brian Sipe, the Hall of Fame quarterback for the Cleveland Browns and my old high school football coach. After Coach Sipe coaching at my high school he became the quarterback coach and recruiting coordinator at San Diego State University. Curiously, I answered the phone and said, “Hello? Coach Sipe”. It was quiet for a second or two before I heard, “Hey, Brenton this is Coach Sipe with San Diego State, I wanted to be he first to let you know that we as a coaching staff have decided to offer you a fifty percent scholarship to play football here and if you perform will raise it to a full scholarship”. I was in shock, stunned that I just got offered. Coach Sipe then said, “I will send you the official letter and you can talk it over with your parents. Have a good day”. “Click” he was gone. I stood there in that spot looking at my dad expecting that he already knew, but my dad kept pushing saying “what did he say, what did Coach Sipe say” I told him that Coach Sipe had just offered me a scholarship and that the official letter is in the mail. At this point I had been the first football player on my team to be offered a scholarship, but it meant so much more than that. When I......

Come Sept

...continue our current way of life?” The fact that the government created a slogan for their current war, ‘The War Against Terror’, as though it were the newest line-up of clothes, goes to show that in America, money talks. Many Americans beg to be a world power, a financial king, and a war tyrant as well. The innocent lives lost and destroyed never touch our comfortable luxurious living rooms. For many people, myself included, this seems like the worst possible problem. Trying to change the core values of an entire nation is an enormous task; a task that for some individuals, may seem rather impossible. If you are innocent then why did you run and hide? Arundhati Roy uses this type of questioning when considering the U.S. government in “Come September.” One suspicious tactic is the widely used label of “anti-American.” American establishments have tried to single out critics and protesters referring to them as “anti-American”. This mixed with the constant reminder of the September 11 attack dubbed “9/11” gives citizens the feeling that if you are not a war zealot then you might as well be a terrorist. I myself have felt as though if I do not strongly support the governments actions then I am betraying my county and my fellow man. As Arundhati Roy states,An anti-national is a person who is against her own nation and, by inference, is pro some other one. But it isn’t necessary to be anti-national to be deeply suspicious of all nationalism to be anti-nationalism. This is......

...BUSINESS PLAN JASSIM AL MALKI Al Malki Photo Studio As Sumhan, Barka, South Batinah Tel. No.: Fax No.: E-mail address: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Families need photographs to capture the special moments of their lives. Families of professionals are busy, and if too much time goes by between photos, these moments are lost forever. Babies, especially, grow fast and parents need photos of them several times a year. While nearly everyone has a camera for snapshots, people need professional quality photos when they will be shown to an important audience, and when people want to be seen in the best light. The Internet has expanded the use of photos, making it possible for anyone to send them or to publish them for wide viewing. Professionals often have business needs for high-quality photos, and through this familiarity, they acquire a taste for them. When these professionals need photos to preserve memories, or to display family photos when they entertain at home, they have the budget and the desire for similarly high-quality photos. Just as they appoint their homes with fine furniture and decorations, the photos on their walls need to exhibit their standards of quality. Most people use professional photo studios only on rare occasions, such as weddings, yearbook pictures, or baby portraits. Because the client has to initiate the call, many special moments are lost and the studio loses potential business. Photo studios generally charge a large fee for CDs of their......

Come with Me

...Leadership and Management Paper LDR\300 Rosemarie Micale October 26, 2015 Lynn Squire Leadership and Management You really cannot define leadership because it can mean many different meaning to different people. But for the most part leadership brings out the best in people you want to inspire and motivate people to pledge their energies, services and gifts to provide an organization's vision.  Leadership seeks to find new prospects for people and the organization to be success in the future. This means dealing first with very tough situations that exposed survival today. In attempting those coercions leadership still finds a way to create a better future and grasp opportunities.    The purpose of management is getting people together to complete desired goals and purposes using available resources efficiently and effectively. Since organizations can be understood as systems, management can also be well-defined as human action, including a plan, to simplify the invention of useful results from a system. This view opens the opportunity to manage yourself, along with an effort to effectively manage others. The key transformation between leaders and managers is that leaders have people shadow them while managers have people who work for them. The difference between managers and leaders would lie in the conception they hold deep in their minds Examples Managers has his eyes on the bottom line leader has his eye on the horizon Managers is a reproduction,......

Come to the Well

...really, it's pepparoni. Today I wanted to share with you all something that has been on my heart for some time now. Being on the streets of vegas for a couple years now, I have encountered many different types of individuals. My brother Rosha could share some stories with you that would be found unbelieveable in some instances. But out of everyone that we have shared Jesus with, one thing remains the same. Everyone of them, even us here, refuse to leave it all behind. We are still searching and are more thirsty today for Christ than ever before. Even with Him right before us. There will not be notes on the screen just the verses that I will reference but feel free to write down what you would like. Today, we are going to look at John 4:1-30, come to the well… Read the passage. Pray In order to understand what transpires here at the well, we have to know what was happening during this time. Why was this event recorded, why Samaria of all places, why this woman, why was Jesus even alone with her. So lets take a look… 1. Amazingly, this important event is only found in The Gospel of John. She undressed slowly, dreamily, and when she was naked, she selected a bright red negligee to wear so that the blood would not show. Doris Whitney looked around the bedroom for the last time to make certain that the pleasant room, grown dear over the past thirty years, was neat and tidy. She opened the drawer of the bedside table and carefully removed the gun. It was shiny black, and terrifyingly cold. She placed it next to the telephone and dialed her daughter's number in Philadelphia. She listened to the echo of the distant ringing. And then there was a soft "Hello?" "Tracy... I just felt like hearing the sound of your voice, darling." "What a nice surprise, Mother." "I hope I didn't wake you up." "No. I was reading. Just getting ready to go to sleep. Charles and I were going out for dinner, but the weather's too nasty. It's snowing hard here. What's it doing there?" Dear God, we're talking about the weather, Doris Whitney thought, when there's so much I want to tell her. And can't. "Mother? Are you there?" Doris Whitney stared out the window. "It's raining." And she thought, How melodramatically appropriate. Like an...
