3. Some critics claim that Jim is Huck's “true father” Defend or refute this statement.

Huckleberry finn society is cruel, unfair and unkind. huckleberry father is abusive and an unfit father. Huckleberry best friend Jim is in slavery, gets mistreated by Mrs. Watson and gets threatened to be sold for 40$ to a strange man. Although Jim is threatened to be sold and mistreated by Mrs. Watson He manage to take care of Huck and raise him as his own. Huckleberry sees Jim as a father image other than his real father. Jim believes Huck is the greatest friend, will never forget him and knows Huck will keep his promises. Huck and Jim truly cares for each other and they would do anything for each other. Even though Jim and Huck aren’t the same color they try to help each other out
