'Gsw' By Courtney Moreno Summary

In the “GSW” by Courtney Moreno narrates, that just once, she has dreamed about a victim, and that she kept some shocking images as much as she could because of fear to share them. Moreno shares that it was her first experience attending a GWS and for that time it was a beginner. Moreno explains, how police officers found a John Doe with GSW in the pavement with his face down, running blood from his head. Police officers assumed that the victim belonged to some coterie of gangsters, because of tattoos that the victim had, also they assumed that the John Doe was in his twenties. However, Moreno states, that police were before at the place of the incident, and that, they did not care to make a call for help because they thought he was dead. Moreno shares, that she had an inexplicable sensation, observing him still, alive. Moreno, also came out with ideas that “somebody loved him” close relatives but, also thought that for somebody he was invincible. To begin, Moreno states " The patient was found lying down in the street, with a river of blood coming out of his head” (605). I believe this caused, Moreno had dream because in a way was traumatizing, try to save the life to a person with no possibilities to survive. Next, Moreno states " I had the strongest feeling watching him"(605). In one way or another Moreno felt empathy for her patient it seen that she could not understand her own feelings. Then Moreno remarks " I looked tougher than I felt” (606) It seen that Moreno, suffered watching John Doe without knowing him before just with the fact that she saw him die lonely in an ambulance, asking herself many questions that never would be answered, and it would be just an experience more in her career throughout of her
