Identify important problems that can be solved
Problems are time-consuming. Some problems are very easy to be solve, however others are not so easily to be settle. Therefore, managers have to evaluate whether the existing problem can be settled within a reasonable time with available resources. This effective problem solving allows you to be calm and in control when issues arise. Besides that, before rushing to solve a problem, managers also need to evaluate whether the existing problem is worthwhile to spend more time and effort on this problem. Also, a good manager should take the responsibility to settle the important problems rather than ignoring these problems or passing the problem to someone else. For example, an important problem that will have the biggest impact on the bottom line of the business.
Look for connections among problems.
It is important to identify for the relationship among the problems. When appropriate, a manager can take the opportunities to solve several related problems at the same time by connecting the problems to each other.
Experiment with innovative solutions
Effective managers are willing to experiment with innovative solution. Innovative solution is a special form of problem solving which the innovative solution is independently created rather than learned with assistance. Systematic innovation solution needs to be properly resourced, and processes must allow for some experimentation and thinking outside the square.
