P3 and 4: Hand in observation sheet and notes in preparation. Briefly state what the role-play or discussion was about. What was your role in the Roles play 3 with Judite and Kadiatu?
Comment from other people during the role play (observation sheet):
From others point of view and observation there was a bad starting, both of off have good eye contact, appropriate seating and also we have good facial expression, Active listening skills and good communication and the carer is patient.
Too much patronising, Good verbal skills, volume and question, Good body posture or appropriate posture and good facial expression, There was reassurance ,Good pressuring turn taking, The teenager did put enough pressure on the social worker ( more aggressive from the teenager),Good presentation, Good play but the social worker need to be more convincing or giving reason why she want her to go to her respite, The social worker was claim and the teenager was good acting and Appropriate language from the social worker.
Role play I did during the play is as follows:
It about a teenager whose name is Helen with a learning disability. But she was refused to go for her respite centre last Friday so her parents should have rest, so she become anger and aggressive and her parents send for a her social worker to help them confused her to go to her respite centre so they can have some rest for the day.
Group discussion with Sonia, Rita, Judite, Ichema, Rosemary and Kadiatu:
SHOULD ABORTION BE ABOLISHED
ABORTION: An abortion id the medical process of ending a pregnancy so it does not result in the birth of a baby and it is also sometimes known as a termination or a termination of pregnancy.
Judite, Sonia and Iceman they disagree that Abortion should not be banned because there some cases where it might be necessary to save the life of the mother. They also think that there are times in the cases of rape and incest that the mother should have the chance to make the choice if they want to keep the baby or not.
It is a women right to choose but in their opinion they say the man should have a say If a person objects to having an abortion, then they should not have one. But no one else should be denied to the right to have one. Foetuses are not people with a full slate of rights like the mother has. Banning abortion will not even prevent abortions from occurring; it just means they will be done in more unsafe places illegally.
Rita, rosemary and kadiatu agree that abortion should abolish because unborn children deserve to see the world. Babies start forming at conception; this means that the child has their right, the child right to life. This is against the child human rights. The child has not done anything wrong, why should it be killed? The child has not even lived yet or seen the light of day and you are killing it.
Children are killed because they are not wanted; these children deserve to see the world as it is part of their rights. In some culture or religious even if you are rape or have unwanted pregnancy you do not have the right to abort that baby so why other country or people do not want to admit that is not good to abort it a sine and a murder to you baby (that you have kill someone).
Women always are raving about it is my body I have autonomy over my own body it is not your body. It is another body you are going too kills a very young body for that matter that is inside you for its own protection. You do not own it. The child is not chattel. It is not luggage. It is not tissue. You have no authority to take the life of a pre-born child. If you kill the child (foetus, if you like it is acceptable to me the word does not alter the child sovereignty), you are murdering another human being.
In conclusion it encourages teen and underage pregnancies. Also, unborn children deserve to see the world. It does not seem fair to him or her, that we would be supporting something that offers people a buffer to having unprotected sex. Furthermore, even unborn children deserve a chance to see the world. The world is a beautiful place, and unborn foetuses deserve a spot in it. I am not host to any political party, I am simply stating what I believe in regards to removing a Childs ticket to seeing the world, unless the life of the mother is at stake. But A child should never be killed especially when he or she has not or do not do anything wrong.
M2: Describe the barriers to effective communication in their two interactions:
In the role play and group discussion the there was a good communication and facial expression but lack of Information, the massage was not pass on in a manner that some people cannot understand, I think we should have provide written information that could have help us of what was going to talk about with the group discussion.
In the group discussion I think Cultural and religious differences make big differences between our discussion and lifestyle, personal and religious beliefs, personal values and general way of life .people was speaking when other person was talking at the same time , that course a misunderstand each other point of view. There was a lot on noise in the environment around but I think by reduce noise when communicating with each other and also we should have adapted to each other communication so our needs can be meet.
Make written information available, make full use of our own non-verbal communication, and monitor our non-verbal communication to assess our feelings and other relevant answers acceptable. All points should be accurate and clearly expressed. There was no Patterns of communication in a group are strongly influenced by the group structure. It because the structure of a group determines the possible relationships and communication opportunities that group members can have.
The Communication with my group or team was fed downwards based on their two at the bottom and top have few opportunities to interact with one another. The main criticism of the group is that it limits communication opportunities and leads to top down decision making. For example a circular group structure provides more opportunities for yours to interact with one Another, these mean relationships are also on a more equal footing, Circle type structures are often a feature of community-based in a setting where leadership rotates between members, communication with the people, who use services, is more direct and decision-making is a shared activity.
Aspects of the physical environment can affect the quality of communication between people and may even deter individuals from making an effort to communicate with one another in the first place. In particular, the nature of the setting in which communication takes place, noise levels, the arrangement of seating, and the amount of available space and time can all impact on the effectiveness of interaction and communication.
For example People who use care services may interact and communicate with care professionals in their own homes, in community facilities, such as GP practices or day centres, in residential care settings or in institutional settings like hospitals. Where a setting is very busy and there is little privacy, communication may be inhibited. An individual may not feel comfortable talking about themselves or aspects of their life or personal situation in a public environment, for example. However, where efforts are made to ensure the person can talk in private without being overheard, interaction and communication is likely to be more effective. Similarly, people may become isolated and have few opportunities to interact and communicate socially in domestic, community or residential settings that lack comfortable, well-organised communal spaces. It is important to ensure that care settings have private spaces, as well as areas where people can meet and talk more publicly.
An environment where there is a lot of noise, either from within or outside of the building, can be a barrier to effective communication. Background noise from a television or radio, from people talking close by or from traffic passing outside a window can make communication very difficult for someone with a hearing impairment, for example. This can be a problem for people who use hearing aids as the background noise is amplified to the same level as the voice of the person speaking to them. The way that the seats are organised in a room can have a big impact on interaction and communication. Seating that is organised in rows or a line around the outside of the room is less likely to promote interaction than seating organised into small clusters, for example. The seating in a room should be organised in a way that brings people into relatively close proximity, promoting eye contact. While people need to be close enough to interact and talk, seating arrangements shouldn’t cause the room to feel cramped or oppressive.
D1: Reflective account that assess the strengths and weakness of their or our two interactions:
Both role play and group discussion have done well on good communication, active listening eye contact and body language these have a positive on me because I feel empowered to make decisions because it feel that they are being listened to, I develop a close relationship with the practitioner and that make me feel that they care of what I was talking about. I did not do well on Bothe role play and group discussion by asking question and be more convincing to words the reason why I want her to go out.
Other did well in bother role play and group discussion All members of the group have a chance to speak, expressing their own ideas and feelings freely, and to pursue and finish out their thoughts, All members of the group can hear others ideas and feelings stated openly, the Group members safely test out ideas that are not yet fully formed, Group members can receive and respond to respectful but honest and constructive feedback. Feedback could be positive, negative, or merely clarifying or correcting factual questions or errors, but is in all cases delivered respectfully. A variety of points of view are put forward and discussed the discussion is not dominated by any one person.
I think was an Argument, while they are based on the content of ideas and opinions, not on personalities. but even in disagreement, there is an understanding that the group is working together to resolve a dispute, solve a problem, create a plan, make a decision, find principles all can agree on, or come to a conclusion from which it can move on to further discussion.
In my opinion I should have recommend by improve the interactions by make sure everyone ask open ended questions, control your own biases, encourage disagreement, and help the group use it creatively, be a recorder if necessary, keep your mouth shut as much as possible when other are talking, do not let one or a small group of individuals dominate the discussion, do not let one point of view override others, do not assume that anyone holds particular opinions or positions because of his culture, background, race, personal style, and so on, by the same token, do not assume that someone from a particular culture, race, or background speaks for everyone else from that situation and do not be the font of all wisdom.
In conclusion I think ground rules may also be a place to discuss recording the session. Who will take notes, record important points, questions for further discussion, and areas of agreement or disagreement? If the recorder is a group member, the group and or leader should come up with a strategy that allows her to participate fully in the discussion.
