For example, burglars can watch your status updates for an opportunity to break into your home and rob you of some of your most valued possessions. For the skeptics who don't believe that it is possible, a real life example proves that it is not only possible, but just how easy it is for the criminal. The alleged burglars robbed a couple in Indiana after the woman posted a status update that said they would be at a concert on a particular evening. The status of the unfortunate victim's post reads "Heading to the Hill with Kurt... To see Fire Department." The woman who posted the status had recently become "friends" with one of the men who robbed her. By becoming "friends," the man could read the post; he could see his "friends" status, and his potential payday. ...Assignment 1 Advertising Campaign Mrk312 Consumers are more knowledgeable than ever before. The internet and the adaptation of social media through mobile devices have allowed the flow of information to travel faster than ever before. The worries of one consumer can quickly become the doubts of thousands if not millions within a short span of time. In terms of cancer and general human health, plastic has become an important issue. Plastic is a concern for both the environment and for the health conscious. Plastic is a synthetic material created by combining materials derived from sources such as petroleum, natural gas or coal. These polymers then must be combined with additives to give the finished product properties such as flexibility or toughness (Life Without Plastic and Mama Mundo Inc., 2013). The shelves of sporting goods stores and general retailers are lined with bottles that market BPA free, but that isn’t enough for some consumers. BPA free plastics still contain chemicals that can interfere with normal human functions. Many of the chemicals in the plastics are not know because they are considered proprietary information by the manufactures (Terry, 2011). With so many unanswered questions about the safety of plastic a market niche has developed consisting of consumers looking for alternatives to plastic water bottles. However, I believe that it is possible for an individual to take action and intervene to help strengthen the community. Strengthening the community can be started at home, advancing to the school, workplace or to any other forms of community like churches and other social groups. Social media which is a powerful communication tool, if positively utilized, can also help strengthen the community. In order to optimize sales and revenue, it is wise to utilize an integrated marketing campaign that attracts attention, draws interest, creates desire, and calls to action (Week Eight, Lecture One). The strategy of advertising and promotion via social media is a success that has been proven over and over again. Campaign for Safe Cosmetics Women all over the world use cosmetics, hair products, and facial products on a daily basis. No wonder there is constant concern with the ingredients and production process of things that we put in or on our body every day. Many cosmetics or personal care products, especially those that are chemically based, are often tested on animals and not humans. That makes true reactions to the products unpredictable and sometimes inaccurate. Animal skin is more durable, adaptable, and less sensitive thank humans, so this could provide a false reading in testing scenarios. There are many campaigns and advocates for government regulation and safety verifications with regards to cosmetics and personal care products. MySpace, Twitter LinkedIn, and Classmates.com more than quadrupled from 2005 in 2009. We are focusing on how these social networking sites are center of attraction in this new era of 21stcentury” (Deepa, p.1). MySpace, Twitter, and Facebook all give someone individuality to be who they want in front of a computer screen. These sites help shy people potentially come out of their shell little by little. These sites also allow people to meet and socialize with new people and create new friends. Some things that none of these sites tell you is if the person is real or not. Regardless of the name, picture, or mutual friends, you truly never know who is behind a computer screen. Many people aren’t as careful as they should be with talking to the random people they meet through the Internet and through these social networking sites. Social media is very addicting and will continue to be addicting with all the new additions they keep adding to all...
