The purpose of creating this survey, was to gain data from qualitative questions, and the opinions of teenagers at Kadina Memorial School, from quantitative questions. Generally, young teenagers are not allowed to vote on this issue and are overlooked. This is because they are below the legal voting age in Australia, which is 18. This is not right because they are the future of South Australia, and their opinions on this issue are significant.

1. Was the information you collected from this source reliable? Explain.
The data gained from this survey is not very reliable, because some respondents didn’t want to participate, and rushed their quantitative answers. The multiple choice questions were reliable, because the participants didn’t need to think very much. All they needed to do was, answer questions about their knowledge on nuclear waste and themselves.

In contrast, some of the open questions were not very reliable because there are multiple inappropriate answers, that lowered the validity of this source. For example, one of the irrelevant answers was, “Nar nar goon.” I am only able to trust a few of the quantitative answers. The few answers that were reliable, supported what other sources claimed about the public opinion on nuclear waste, which is against.

I used this source to back up my conclusion of whether or not, nuclear waste should be disposed of in South Australia. The answer to my question was be based on the general opinion of a nuclear waste plant in South Australia, according to my survey data and Government polls. In the context of my question, this survey was more useful than my other source, because it told me what the public thought. Whereas, the PDF just outlined information about nuclear waste
