The paper seeks to establish the major causes of eating disorders among adolescents in the U.S. Results from the research that lifetime prevalence of anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder were 0.3%, 0.9% and 1.6% respectively. On the other hand, only a minority of adolescents with eating disorders received treatment.
