We have explored so many topics in this class, I feel that I have traveled around the world, through time, and back again. It was a bit hard to choose a subject for my research paper because I am fascinated by all myths. However, one myths that I was particularly intrigued with was Selkie. I grew up listening to mermaid myths, drifting off to sleep dreaming I was a mermaid. But I had never heard the myth of the Selkie. A Selkie is a woman seal with the ability to shed her seal skin and transform into a beautiful woman. If a man take her skin while spending time being a woman he can keep it and marry her.
