Additional tips:

• URLs should not be underlined. To remove the underlining, highlight the URL and hit the Control key (CTRL) + “U” twice. However, URLs should take the reader to the EXACT page used as a source. The only exception is if you are discussing an organization as a whole, when you may use the homepage URL.

• DOI (Digital Object Identifier) is a unique electronic code assigned to an online journal article. If the article has a DOI, add the number to the end of the citation. See Limb (9) for an example; do not add a space following DOI:

• All references are double-spaced within and between references. There are no extra lines between entries

• The first line of each entry is flush along the left margin; each subsequent line is indented. To indent the subsequent lines, manually hit the enter key at the end of the first line, followed by the Tab key. Repeat for each additional line.

• URLs may need to be broken to comply with standard APA format. If a URL must be broken, break it before most punctuation within the URL and not after. Never separate http:// from the URL. In addition, be sure to turn off the automatic hyphenation in Word before breaking the URL.

• APA no longer requires a date of retrieval for web sources. Use “Retrieved from” followed by the URL.

• Do not include the URL for articles retrieved from databases; this will include articles found in the Virtual Library. Instead, look for the DOI on the first page of the article. If there is no DOI, use the URL for the journal’s homepage.

• Pay close attention to punctuation and format on the examples below.

• Citation editors, including the one in Word, are only as accurate as the information entered, which means you still have to format the citation properly.

• APA uses specific capitalization rules. You will see these rules applied to the examples on the next page. For example, titles of articles and books are capitalized differently than titles of magazines, journals, and newspapers.

...Most students are complaining about healthy lunch at school. It is a fact, nine out of ten students surveyed don't like the school lunch, when in fact they should. This year is a mush healthier lunch in cafeteria. There are vegetables and you have fat free milk also. I have some ideas how students can live a healthy life by eating healthy, avoiding fast food, and try to make a limit. First, healthy means having or indicating good health in your body, and being healthy is better way to live your life. If students will eat healty they would be able to do or achieve anything in his/her own way. In body person could be strong and healthy. They will have positive thoughts and not negative thoughts. Second, students should eat healthy and...

...Have you ever been at school, so hungry, then reach in your pockets and only have a dollar? I, personally have done this many times and thought in my head “I wish we had a food vending machine.” School lunches can be so expensive and they continue to rise about $0.30, or 12 percent, every year ( School Nutrition Association 2017 ). Elementary school lunches are, on average, $0.26 cheaper than high school lunches, but each are being fed the same amount of food. Even though 18 percent of 12 to 19 year olds are considered obese, schools should have a junk food vending machine in the halls because kids get hungry during the day, some lunches are too expensive, and more expensive for the schools to provide. Often times in middle school or junior...

...School lunches need to change for the better because everyday kids have complaints about them and even more kids around the world. So it's not just Zimmerman. The school lunches used to be decent until in 2012 when Barack Obama made a law called “The Healthy Hunger free kids act” which prevented unhealthy foods at schools. This helped reduce kids obesity, but the lunches are still gross and bad tasting. Even though they did get more fruits and vegetables the fruits are not fresh at all. For example the apples are hard as rocks and the vegetables taste like they’ve been out for weeks. I think it would be better if the school ordered subway or dominos once a week at least or a better provider because ours is very gross. Not only Zimmerman...

On top of that these schools are offering the kids to buy junk food which is causing many of them to become obese. ...Is School Lunch Really That Bad? During my early school years, the school lunch was very tasty, but not always healthy. In my younger years there was no act for nutrients at school, then later our present president made it a law to where all schools have to make the food healthier. I noticed the food was not as tasty as it used to be. School lunch will never be the same, but I still like the school’s food anyway. School lunch can be good for certain things; it is good for our health. Pizza, before the act our president made, was full of grease and fat, now there is less grease and little fat. Yet the trash cans are overflowing with untouched food now because people do not like that there is not fat or grease. Unlike me, who tends not...

...How did you go to school? Did you attend a traditional brick and mortar school? Were you homeschooled? Did you go to a charter school? A magnet school? Maybe a private school? Or did you perhaps attend an online school? If you spent your school days with the luxury of being online schooled, then you were a very lucky student. In this day and age of technology, many colleges now offer a wide variety of online classes in addition to the large number of online schools. This relatively recent, widespread development opens countless windows of opportunity for dual enrollment, college and university students. Among many other features, choosing to take your classes online gives you an incredible amount of flexibility. If you have a job or kids, being able to do your assignments whenever you can, or whenever you, want can be invaluable. Unlike traditional classes, online you don’t have to worry about getting to school on time and missing your math teacher’s Wednesday pop-quizzes, or failing your literature class because you couldn’t finish that research paper by the due date. Online classes give you the flexibility to work at your own pace and on your own time. Paper on School Shooting

...School shootings The recent increase in School shootings across America has made schools tighten their security significantly, schools are implementing metal detectors, mandatory bag checks and school police, to make sure no weapons enter the school grounds and make sure all students are safe. Every morning from 7:30 to 8:05a.m the school gates are open and the student are able to freely enter the school after their check, after that the school gates are closed, only school personal or people who has been given a entry permit are able to enter the school. Position Paper on School Vacations

...ENG4U1-06 | Should Schools Be Opened All Year Round? | Mr. K. McGuire | Dorsa Alizadeh 7/4/2014 | Should Schools Be Opened All Year Round? There have been talks of letting schools run throughout the whole year, and instead having of having summer, vacations for students would be spread out through the whole year. Students would have their vacations in smaller periods of time and they would be during the course of the whole year instead of having the two months of summer. The best decision would be to let the school system carry on as it is, because the students get time to relax and free their mind from all the academic studies, it also gives the school time to do some repairs and/or renovations, and it gives the students time to build new experiences on their own and explore other options such as workplace and travel rather than just staying in school. Many would debate that teachers may not have enough time to teach the material within the amount of time provided, but on the other hand teachers also need some time off from their job so that they can relax and organize the material they need to teach for the next school year. The new system might also take away a lot of family time. It might cause the students to be more involved in their academics rather than their family or their social life, since both the teachers and the students will be working full time. Students’ social skills might be at stake, and as many of you know social skills are one of the most...
