TECHNOLOGY IN SCHOOLS
Technology is the making and usage and knowledge of tools, machines and techniques. Technology in schools has improve learning, achievement in Maryland schools by helping students meet the standard of academic learning and also helps teachers become more qualified in the area of the use of technology in class work and for critical thinking in their students. Technology has provide the easiness for Maryland’s board member to get information about the use of a technology in other states compared to Maryland and it has also provide support, accountability and leadership in the use of technology.
The school board provided new technology to various county schools in order to facilitate learning. Computers, internet, digital cameras, mp3 players, cell phones and personal digital assistants (PDA) are many of the technologies provided.
Computer has helped in the scope of searches like wiki in order to get information with the speed, ease and accuracy needed. It has helped students think critically and helped in turning data into information which reduces time spent writing in a notepad before typing. It has helped to organize information and made sending information to one another easier.
With the digital camera students are able to film their projects and presentation for class which has helped tremendously in their learning process which is preparing them for higher education.
They could not learn about technology without internet that is why the provision of internet and electronics like tablets and laptop has made doing work easier and faster and more efficient.
The technology classes taught in most of the county schools are information system, engineering, programming and Microsoft office.
