THE wild bee reels from bough to bough with her furry coat and her gauzy wing.
Scattered the few threads on her body
Still she was wandering to find out the spaces...
(Here are few spaces for her to bite...All Face Book Lovers)
Released her to make that vow.
To Just stroke once..

Now in a lily-cup, and now
Setting a jacinth bell a-swing,
In his wandering;
Sit closer love: it was here I throw
I made that vow,

Swore that two lives should be like one
As long as the sea-gull loved the sea,
As long as the sunflower sought the sun,--
It shall be, I said, for eternity
'Twixt you and me!
Dear friend, those times are over and done,
Love's web is spun.

Look upward where the poplar trees
Sway and sway in the summer air,
Here in the valley never a breeze
Scatters the thistledown, but there
Great winds blow fair
From the mighty murmuring mystical seas,
And the wave-lashed leas.

Look upward where the white gull screams,
What does it see that we do not see?
Is that a star? or the lamp that gleams
On some outward voyaging argosy,--
Ah! can it be
We have lived our lives in a land of dreams!
How sad it seems.

Sweet, there is nothing left to say
But this, that love is never lost,
Keen winter stabs the breasts of May
Whose crimson roses burst his frost,
Ships tempest-tossed
Will find a harbour in some bay,
And so we may.

And there is nothing left to do
But to kiss once again, and part,
Nay, there is nothing we should rue,
I have my beauty,--you your Art,
Nay, do not start,
One world was not enough for two
Like me and you.

Honey Production in India

...was the first sweet food tasted by the ancient Indian inhabiting rock shelters and forests. He hunted bee hives for this gift of god. India has some of the oldest records of beekeeping in the form of paintings by prehistoric man in the rock shelters. With the development of civilization, honey acquired an unique status in the lives of the ancient Indians. They regarded honey as a magical substance that controlled the fertility of women, cattle, as also their lands and crops. The recent past has witnessed a revival of the industry in the rich forest regions along the sub-Himalayan mountain ranges and the Western Ghats, where it has been practiced in its simplest form. Formation of Honey Honey is produced by bees as a food source. In cold weather or when fresh food sources are scarce, bees use their stored honey as their source of energy. By contriving for bee swarms to nest in artificial hives, people have been able to semidomesticate the insects, and harvest excess honey. The worker bees raise larvae and collect the nectar that will become honey in the hive. Leaving the hive, they collect sugar-rich flower nectar and return. In the hive, the bees use their "honey stomachs" to ingest and regurgitate the nectar a number of times until it is partially digested.] The bees work together as a group with the regurgitation and digestion until the product reaches a desired quality. It is then stored in honeycomb cells. After the final regurgitation, the honeycomb is left unsealed. However...

...disadvantaged producers, non-discrimination, better environmental practices and the application of responsible methods of production Important Issues • Happy Valley understands the urgent and real need for healthy bees as pollinators for food production. We are actively seeking new and improved solutions to improve honey bee health. • To ensure the ongoing healthy status of our bees we strictly limit crop protection products and specifically curtail unnecessary chemical pest treatments which could hurt the health or affect the growth of healthy bees. We only use crop protection products that are effective in managing pests, excellent operator safety with relatively favourable environmental profiles. • Scientists and health regulatory authorities agree that bee health is a complex issue especially as in recent times it has been put forward that bee populations are on the incline. The need to be resolute and proactive in management practices is even more important now. Such is the delicate balance we strive to manage all factors including pests and parasites, microbial diseases, inadequate diet and climate change whereas we can make a difference. • In normal bee lifecycle during the summer season. Approximately 2200 worker bees may leave the hive to perish naturally. This is due to the average lifespan worker bees enjoy of four to six weeks. The expired bees are replaced daily by...

Eating local honey can fend off allergies. Beeswax Secreted from glands, beeswax is used by the honeybee to build honey comb. It is used by humans in drugs, cosmetics, artists' materials, furniture polish and candles. Propolis Collected by honeybees from trees, the sticky resin is mixed with wax to make a sticky glue. The bees use this to seal cracks and repair their hive. It is used by humans as a health aid, and as the basis for fine wood varnishes. Royal Jelly The powerful, milky substance that turns an ordinary bee into a Queen Bee. Akellah and the Beed

...Character Analysis Paper Donna Easter University of Virginia Introduction to the Gifted and Talented EDLF 5500 Dr. Kelly Hedrick October 02, 2011 Character Analysis Paper In summarizing the movie Akeelah and the Bee this writer will begin with a description of the leading character Akeelah Anderson. Akeelah is an eleven-year-old seventh grade African-American female living in the inner city. Her educational background revealed she was promoted to a higher level in the second grade. This caused her to be a young middle school student. She is the youngest child of four children. Her father was murdered which caused her to be the product of a single family home. She attended a school that appeared to be aged and had a history of low academic achievement. She was invited to participate in her schools spelling bee where she became the winner for the school. This movie was a depiction of her journey to a national title. While Akeelah demonstrated many gifted characteristics. Research indicates that culturally different learner’s score on average lower than middle-class students on standardize intelligence tests. This may have been the case for Akeelah. According to Frasier & Garcia, (1995) test bias, selective referrals and reliance on deficit-based paradigms cause underrepresentation and identification of minority students in gifted programs. These children are not easily identified and remain invisible (Davis, Rimm, & Siegle, 2011, p. 328). Current research...

Supply Chain Task 1

...JCT2 Supply Chain Task 1 B 1. Evaluating my use of budgets and pro-forma statements to plan for production capacity In Ralph Estes's Dictionary of Accounting, a pro forma financial statement is defined as "a financial statement prepared on the basis of some assumed events and transactions that have not yet occurred." (Estes, 1981) Historical financial statements are used to measure an organization's past financial performance and condition. Without historical financial statements, financial analysis and evaluation would not be possible and management, board members, investors, and customers would be largely in the dark about how well an organization has done. Pro forma financial statements are similar to historical financial statements in appearance and use, except that they focus on the future instead of the past and are based upon assumptions rather than hard fact.  According to CliveVlieland-Boddy “the construction of pro forma statements is based upon detailed financial projections and the historical relationships between different income statements and balance sheet accounts. A set of current financials serve as the foundation on which the pro forma will be built.” (Vlieland-Boddy, 2011) With starting a new company and brand, I did not have much in the way of current financials to use for helping create the pro forma statements initially. When I did start receiving the reports, the information was hard for me to use for projections due to the lack of a track record...

...president. Since then, South Africa has embarked on a new journey of political reconciliation and economic liberalization. Yet, doing business in South Africa has always been risky. Although the risks associated with apartheid are well known, managing risks in the postapartheid era is no less challenging. Since 1994, South Africa has introduced fundamental and comprehensive changes to its ‘rules of the game’, creating both uncertainties and opportunities. The democratically elected ANC government has adopted a Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) policy aiming to increase blacks’ share in the economy. The South African government is committed to protecting property rights, but the BEE rules establish constraints on ownerships rights to achieve certain political objectives. Few South Africans disagree with basic ideas behind BEE. Yet, there has been much grumbling over the way BEE has been implemented. This is because BEE is setting...

Bees are also crucial in maintaining biodiversity by pollinating numerous plant species whose fertilisation requires an obligatory pollinator. Apis mellifera is a species that has shown great adaptive potential, as it is found almost everywhere in the world and in highly diverse climates. In a context of climate change, the variability of the honey bee’s lifehistory traits as regards temperature and the environment shows that the species possesses such plasticity and genetic variability that this could give rise to the selection of development cycles suited to new environmental conditions. Although we do not know the precise impact of potential environmental changes on honey bees as a result of climate change, there is a large body of data at our...

...information of food sources with their conspecifics in order to survive (Wilson 1971). Social insects are well known to partake in this type of behavior. Whether it is by trail pheromones, directly guiding the conspecific to the food source or in some cases signaling, such as the vibratory waggle dance of the honey bee, increases foraging effort (Frisch 1967; Jarau & Hrncir 2009). Honey bees’ waggle dance is well understood and known to provide their nest mates with information on not only the presence of valuable food sources but also the exact location and quality of the food source (Couvillon 2012; Frisch 1967). The main component of this dance is called the waggle run which is when a...

Leadership

...------------------------------------------------- Beekeeping Beekeeping (or apiculture, from Latin: apis "bee") is the maintenance of honey bee colonies, commonly in hives, by humans. Abeekeeper (or apiarist) keeps bees in order to collect their honey and other products that the hive produces (including beeswax, propolis, pollen, and royal jelly), to pollinate crops, or to produce bees for sale to other beekeepers. A location where bees are kept is called an apiary or "bee yard". Depictions of humans collecting honey from wild bees date to 15,000 years ago; efforts to domesticate them are shown in Egyptian art around 4,500 years ago. Simple hives and smoke were used and honey was stored in jars, some of which were found in the tombs ofpharaohs such as Tutankhamun. It wasn't until the 18th century that European understanding of the colonies and biology of bees allowed the construction of the moveable comb hive so that honey could be harvested without destroying the entire colony. ------------------------------------------------- Origins[edit] There are more than 20,000 species of wild bees.[12] Many species are solitary[13] (e.g., mason bees, leafcutter bees (Megachilidae),carpenter bees and other ground-nesting bees). Many others rear their young in burrows and small colonies (e.g., bumblebees and stingless bees). Some honey bees are wild e.g. the little honeybee (Apis florea), giant honeybee (Apis dorsata) and rock bee (Apis laboriosa). Beekeeping, or apiculture, is concerned with the practical management...

...services. These pollinators have helped produce approximately $19 billion worth of agricultural crops in the United States alone in 2010. (Arnold). The BeeBase, operated by the National Bee Unit (NBU) in England, has been operating since 1991 and was created to set out to protect and sustain the national bee stocks. A new initiative called, Healthy Bees Plan, encourages the 20,000 beekeepers in England and Wales to register and stay in close contact with the NBU. The database will play a key role in allocating the new funds allotted to honey bee protection. (National Bee Unit). Honey bee colonies are collapsing because of colony collapse disorder or CCD. There are many factors that cause CCD, such as parasites, viruses, chemicals, bacteria, and the environment, but many experts disagree on what combination of these factors actually cause CCD. Despite being considered a pest, nuisance, and some may say, dangerous, the bees are still a necessary part of agriculture. As humans, we should respond to their disappearance by helping re-populate the honey bees since many plants rely on them for pollination. Different ways to help re-populate the bees are by planting a diversity of plants around your home to lessen the potential contamination of plants, avoid the use of any pesticides, and lastly, take up bee keeping as a hobby. Without bees, cross pollination of plants would lessen and plants will be more susceptible to diseases. Honey bees are essential to the human survival because honey...
