In the book Wednesday Wars by Gary D. Schmidt the character Danny was not mature. And in the beginning someone once stated “Do not give up. The beginning is always the hardest”. Danny was having difficult parts at the beginning but towards the end he learns to figure things out be strong and does not give up.
Over the book Danny has learned to be brave and strong. He started to care for more people other than himself and he knows that when there is little hope of winning he will still try until he can’t go anymore. He can make a big difference. At the beginning all he wanted was cream puffs and he was immature later he really grows up and stands up for Mai Thi and Holling and his other classmates.
At the beginning Danny is just a bystander and immature and all he wanted was cream puffs, and soccer games, towards the end he doesn't care about cream puffs and soccer games because he is mature and care about …show more content…
Because at the race when Danny lost, He said “Beat those pied ninny's”(205).That's when Danny lost the race and he's telling holling to beat the eighth graders because they knocked him down but he kept going. And that's why Danny is so strong is because he kept going but know he needs Hollings help to finish it off.Danny was no longer Danny Hupfer who screamed his skull out at soccer games,or who stuck wads of gum under desks,or Danny who ran cross country with bloody knees and waved sweaty t-shirts, he was more than all of those (259). “To life”(260). This is the part when Danny is no longer a kid he is a man and he is a mature man. After everything that happened to Danny it was all for a purpose to show that you need to stand up for yourself when there's nobody around. But what's most important is that to have good days you have to have bad days, and to make the good days

How to Be Really Cool.

...his power. He accused the white farmers of the newly found opposition. The ZANU-PF immediately took action, in occupying the white-owned farms. The article begins with the story of the Stauntons, a white Zimbabwean farmer family of three generations. After being chased off their farm, they await a future of uncertainty in Australia. On a Tuesday afternoon in late 2002, a motorcade of SUVs invaded the Kachere Farm (Staunton's property). Grace Mugabe, wife of the president, viewed it as a plentiful valuable farming site and decided to claim it. They were not the only victims; by early 2003 only 200 of 4,500 white-owned farms remained fully functioning. The ill-effects don't stop there, as the economy was also severely hurt. Commercial wheat production went down 52% from the year before, and the commercial cattle herd fell from some 1.3 million head in 1999 to below 200,000 in 2002. After enclosing this information, the article proceeds to offer personal accounts of black Zimbabweans who've settled in the white farmers' land. One such, Chris Lunga, welcomes the land reform and sees it long overdue. He states that his father fought in the same war as the former land owner's father, yet did not receive any land afterward, as he was black. Another who took hold of the opportunity to have free land is Tapfumaneyi Manzira. He says that he has not sympathy for the white farmers, that is collateral damage as experienced in any...

American Presidential Election

...what is the situation in the two main parties after “Super Tuesday”?¨ Right now we are in the pre-election stage, where the candidates from the different parties will fight for representatives and to be a candidate for their party. After Super Tuesday: Democrats: On the democrat side, we can see that Hillary is in the lead, much more so than Bernie sanders. Hillary has gained quite the popularity and is already acting as if she will be the next president. Bernie Sanders managed to get some wins but not enough to beat Hillary. It is not looking too good for Bernie Sanders. Republicans: On the republican side, we have three representatives. Donald Trump, Marko Rubio and Ted Cruz. Donald Trump is in the big lead right now, and it seems more likely that he will be the candidate for the Republican Party. Second in lead after Trump is Ted Cruz. Marko Rubio is also gaining some traction now after Super Tuesday, but has a long to go if he wants to beat Trump. What seems likely now after Super Tuesday is that from the Democratic Party we will see Hillary Clinton, and from the Republican Party we will see Donald Trump. * Donald Trump has done much better than generally expected: Discuss possible reasons for Trump`s success: I think that the number one reason for Trump’s success is that he is a businessperson more than he is a politician, which means a lot to some people in the US. “Make America great again” is a quote that Trump is famous for. Trump has made many promises and...

The Growing Trend of Domestic Terrorism in the 21st Century

...The Growing Trend of Domestic Terrorism in the 21st Century On April 13, 2013, in Boston, MA our country found its self under yet another terrorist attack. The United States of America was founded under some of the same pretenses that many today would and do call terrorism. The methods and tactics used against the British by our founding fathers, soldiers and militia, do in many ways run parallel to what modern day terrorists are doing and have done to us, but yet they were labeled patriots. This country was founded on such mischievous tactics; maybe it is just karma, that terrorism is such a huge problem for us today. Throughout history, the U.S. has been under constant terrorist attack, a countless number of times, by a multitude of enemies either foreign or domestic. Since the beginning of the 21st Century, many different types of Terrorist attacks against the United States of America have significantly grown, which has caused a lot of fear and animosity among many Americans. A day that all Americans and most of the free world will never forget, September 11, 2001, the day that our country was crippled, people fell to their knees in prayer. 19 insane militants associated with the Islamic extremist group known as al-Qaeda hijacked four airliners and carried out terrifying suicide attacks against 3 targets located in the United States (history.com). My Paper!

... Marco Rubio, Cruz has over the past four months slowly looked to remove any outstanding impurities that could hinder his hopes to coalesce conservatives around his campaign. On trade and immigration -- two of the most volatile issues in the Republican Party -- Cruz has abandoned previous positions that are politically dangerous in the race to the right. The latest shift came Tuesday, when Cruz discarded with his past caution on what to do with those who came to the U.S. illegally, saying finally at CNN's debate in Las Vegas that he would not support a path to legal status. That move hasn't been without controversy, as seen in a contentious interview on Fox News Wednesday that put the Texan squarely on the defensive. A month prior, Cruz sharply distanced himself from his long-held plan to increase the number of visas for high-tech workers by 500%. Under fire from conservative talk radio hosts who said he was imperiling American workers, Cruz said he would suspend the program for 180 days until it could be reformed to his liking. Three months before that, 13 photos: Memorable quotes from the last GOP debate of 2015 under that same pressure from GOP talkers, Cruz backed out of supporting the White House's Trade Promotion Authority, which had become a lightning rod for conservatives anxious about appeasing the White House. Cruz maintains that he still supports free trade, but that the trade authority was "enmeshed in corrupt Washington backroom...

...Tuesday, 12 August 2014 STRUCTUAL ! A lot of health services are not as accessible and user-friendly for Indigenous people as they are for non-Indigenous people, adding to higher levels of disadvantage. Sometimes this is because more Indigenous people than non-Indigenous live in remote locations and not all health services are offered outside of cities. Sometimes health services are not culturally appropriate (do not consider Indigenous culture and the specific needs of Indigenous people). Also, some Indigenous people may not be able to use some services because they are too expensive. Factors that are important to social and emotional wellbeing include a person’s. (refer to slide show) Social and emotional wellbeing is often confused with mental health, but it is much broader: social and emotional wellbeing is concerned with the overall wellbeing of the person. On the other hand, mental health describes how a person thinks and feels, and how they cope with and take part in everyday life. It is often seen, incorrectly, as simply the absence of a mental illness. (Slide show) Important determinants of Indigenous health inequality in Australia include the lack of equal access to primary health care and the lower standard of health infrastructure in Indigenous communities (healthy housing, food, sanitation etc) compared...

...Page, 1 St. Andrew In my book racial profiling is not tolerated it’s despicable, unpleasant, and inappropriate I am definitely against it. Racial profiling is wrong and is a form of racism, and it also goes against the basic bounds of the Bill of Rights. Racial profiling has been used for decades by law prosecution interventions, dating back to the early sixties during the civil rights movement. One of the most famous accounts of racial profiling was the arrest and custody of Rubin “Hurricane” Carter, who was arrested for murder. The way Rubin Carter was detained by APV that two African American males in a white car were suspects of the murder; out of all the African Americans in white cars in the city how could the cops possibly determine which car to pull over, in that caser every white car with two African American males should have been pulled over. Even today racial profiling still goes on it’s not as bad as before but it’s still disrespectful to others. People are being mistaken for a criminal because you “fit the profile”? This is a common scenario all across America. All too often minorities are being sent off to jail because they “fit the profile”. Racial profiling is wrong, and it alters lives, destroys families, and halts dreams. Because of racial profiling, many African American and other minorities sit in jails and prisons across this nation, many of whom “let’s face it”, were guilty until proven innocent. The issue of racial profiling takes many shapes...

5 Million Forgotten

...Onixa Otero Mrs. Funk Inquiry Skills 28 March 2013 The 5 Million Forgotten Tuesday, September 11, 2001. Americans all over the country will never forget this dreadful day. The day in which four terrorists hijacked and murdered the pilots of four different airplanes and used them to crash into the World trade Center, the Pentagon, and the aircraft that was headed for Washington D.C. crashed into western Pennsylvania. 2,819 people died that day, but “because of confusion and difficulty in tracking down individuals, early estimates put the toll at more than 6,000” (Greenberg). There is a saying that all American say whenever we commemorate this horrible day, "We will never forget." And of course it is near to impossible to forget about the death of a loved one or death in such a large amount.. "We will NEVER forget." This quote shows how ignorant and neglectful people are. World War II, the Holocaust. Adolf Hitler wanted to perfect the human race, and he was willing to annihilate everyone who got in his way of doing so. Over 11 Million people were brutally murdered by Hitler and his Nazis. When people commemorate this tragic event in the world's history, they never forget the Jews that were killed. But in reality the number of Jews killed was 6 million. People always overlook the 5 million others who were also targeted by Hitler. The other 5 Million victims were people who came from different backgrounds, cultures, and had different beliefs. Hitler went after Homosexuals...
