America involved itself in the Vietnam War to help save South Vietnam’s freedom as well as stop communism from spreading. But due to this decision, it greatly changed America and impacted the American society in many ways. In 1965, President Truman believed that the United States should support the policy to help free people trying to resist control from armed minorities or outside pressures.
