Diversity means a range of different things, the quality or state of having many different forms, types, ideas, etc. They use diversity when speaking of races because there are so many races and they are all different. Diversity has helped me to understand more about other races in the world. As I have been learning these past nine weeks I have learned so much that I have truly changed as a person to try not to be prejudice towards others. In the past honestly I was very prejudice towards others just by their looks. There are many ways that diversity means for things in the world. So many things are different in the world, but that doesn’t mean we need to be prejudice about things or people. The things I have learned about my own racial, ethnic, and cultural history is that race doesn’t matter. I know that whites use to be the most popular race in the world but that has changed a lot in the last century. Whites are now the third most popular race in the world. For ethnic there are many different groups in my race. Groups like Christians in my race many people are Christians so they are considered an ethnic group. Things I have learned about ethnics are that there are so many different types of groups in the world. They don’t need to be judged or criticized. There are many ethnics about Americans. Cultural history in my race is things that have shaped the world today. Americans have come a very long way in life. They have shaped this world to what it is today. It is a strong nation, one that is always going to fight for their country. A new report from the Pew Research Center projects that immigration will propel the U.S. population total to 438 million by the year 2050. Right now we are at 303 million and the year 2014. As I have been researching over the past eight weeks about population I have learned that no matter what the population growth is going to go up. There are many more lives being made in the world now and probably forever than there was in the 70’s and 80’s. Elderly people will be the highest in population. Today there is 40 million that are the age 65 and higher. By the year 2050 there will be a higher percentage. Other ages will continue to grow as well. But the highest is the elderly and the second highest will be babies. I can see why babies will be the second highest because there are so many babies being born today and imagine 35 years from now. The challenges that the United States face because of diversity of the people is the changes in the percentage of people. Many countries are rapidly growing so there is more challenges that they will face. There is so much diversity in the world. So many people are different and some don’t like the fact that not everyone will ever be the same. If our world did not have diversity in it would be rather boring and have no character. Many challenges can be hatred towards others. Fighting with others because they are different, there are so many challenges but people just need to realize that there will always be diversity. Everyone is always going to be different. That is how god made the world to be he made us all to be our own individuals. He made us all different for a reason so we just need to accept that and get along with those who are different.

Diversity in society has helps us to grow as individuals and open our minds to different ways of life. We learn from others cultures, and the ways of life they live. When we learn from other cultures we can learn to accept others for who they are. We can even learn to use some of their cultures in our lives. For example foods, many people eat different foods from different cultures and they love it. The point is that we are all different there are differences that we all have but it can strengthen our society. Diversity helps us to learn, grow, and understand new ways of living. We can expand our knowledge and embrace the differences of everyone. Ways to foster climate of acceptance and cultural pluralism in the United States is to show others that we need to accept others for who they are. When we learn from others it helps us to accept others as well. Media perpetuates stereotyping and prejudice by always showing how people are prejudice in movies and shows. I see it all the time how they make fun of certain races in movies most comedies show them doing that. With stereotyping this can happen in music, television and movies. The media helps foster appreciation through the radio, television, and movies, appreciation is being thankful for the things or people you have in your life. In media they show appreciation for diversity. On the radio I always hear stories about being thankful for diversity in the world. On a Christian channel they appreciate all the different races and blessings that come from other races The people in the U.S. can work together to reduce prejudice and increase appreciation for diversity. Ways we can do this is to put it all over media. Tell people why it is a big deal and why we need change in the U.S. We all want to grow and be a better state so we should improve in these things. It will help us as a state. Ways that I can change my own behaviors to be more inclusive and pluralistic is to realize what I am doing. I need to see that my behaviors are wrong and change them.

...Home Schooling vs. Public Schooling Jill Norris COM155 October 27, 2012 Dr. Melton Home Schooling vs. Public Schooling The grand cartoonist Al Capps once said, “Any place that anyone can learn something useful from someone with experience is an educational institution.”(Capps) This statement evokes thought of exactly what defines a “school.” Can any place be called a school? Certainly the home can be called a school as there are around 1.5 million children in the United States are homeschooled. Home schooled children are able to practice their religion, can have a different curriculum, and different disciplinary actions, but both can lead to a well educated student. Public schools, even with all of their bad press, are still the most popular way to educate a child (Homeschool Or Public School? 2012) According to www.hslada.org, which provides legal analysis of home school laws, someone that is interested in homeschooling their children should follow the law of the state in which they reside. Laws governing home school education vary by state and according to the 10th Amendment of the Constitution the power to regulate all forms of education belong to the states. Homeschooling is included in this protection. The Constitution states that the federal government is not allowed to interfere with or control public or private forms of education. The progression requirements for home schooled children do differ state by state and the federal government has no laws or...

... Madame President Herrera, Now that you have learned how the Justices can influence the decision-making process and have learned how the nomination process essentially works, we now want to turn to an area that she will want to be weary of when choosing two particular nominees. We call this area that you want to watch out for “red flags.” There are many different red flags that can indicate a potential nominee is going to not be the right choice. First, as the president she will want to check out the all the nominee’s ethical backgrounds and expertise. President Herrera will want to make sure they are as qualified as they can be before suggesting them as a nominee. Lawrence Baum, a credible source yet again outlines this, “to minimize the possibility of such embarrassments, administrations today give close scrutiny to the competence and ethics of potential nominees” (Baum, p. 36). She will want to look for issues that may come out later to the public, and avoid them at all costs. Such issues can be classified as sexual harassment or violations of laws that a potential nominee engaged. If this is the case then she should not considered them nomination. Also, the President does not want to find out ten years from now that one of the Justices she nominated was in violation of the law. Instead, look for the most qualified candidates upfront because they will be of the most value to her. Second, another red flag is a nominee who is too dominated by his or her political party...

...resources available. The least expensive bus route for a local elementary school is probably designed in a limited time frame and with limited resources, but it is also sufficient that such a model only be “good enough,” as only minor inconvenience will be caused if slightly inaccurate assumptions are built into the model. Such a model would not need to be exceptionally detailed or complex. Alternatively, the most profitable series of flights offered by a major airline would need a more detailed and complex model. A great deal of profit stands to be lost if flights fly with few passengers or if popular destinations are not adequately served. Such a model would likely need to take into account the differences in traveler density throughout the week and year and the popularity of different locations over the time frame covered by the model. These factors would easily be ignored in the bus route scenario. 3. What part of the modeling process do you believe is the most important (obviously they are all important, but pick one). Justify your answer. I believe the making assumptions portion of the modeling process is the most important. Which assumptions are made will determine how accurate and sensitive the resulting model will be. If assumptions can be made that are accurate and easily found for a wide range of scenarios, a very accurate model can conceivably be formed and modified to cover a wide range of possible parameters. 4. Build on the brainstorming from the previous section...

...1. What are some non-tax considerations that should be taken into account in determining whether to operate a business as a partnership or corporation? There are couple things other than tax that need to be considered before staring a business. In a partnership, the owners are personally liable for the partnership’s debt, which means if the assets within partnership could not satisfied, owners are responsible for the remaining balance. However, owners of a corporation are generally not liable for the corporation’s liability. The ownership is easier to be transferred or sold to the other party in a corporation than in a partnership. Moreover, corporations will continue in business upon the death of shareholders. In a corporation, the company is liable for the unemployed insurance; however, the partnership is not responsible for this. In addition, generally, it will cost less to start a partnership than a corporation. Therefore, owners should take considerations of these points and the objective of the business in order to determine whether to operate a partnership or a corporation. 2. Barbara owns 40% of Partnership A and 40% of C Corp B. Each entity has $100,000 of net taxable income. Neither entity makes any distributions. What are the tax consequences to Barbara from each of her investments? Will either entity have to pay tax for the year? If so, how much assuming a 35% tax rate? ...1. Evaluate the following statement. Is it a valid statement? If so, why is it valid; if not, why is it not valid? Cut out the middleman (retailers, distributors, etc.) and you will reduce the prices consumers pay for products. The distribution of products rarely flows from producer directly to the consumer. Rather, supply chains are developed to distribute products to consumers. Decisions related to distribution and supply chain are highly important. Some believe that cutting out the middleman in the supply chain, which are retailers, distributors, etc., will reduce the prices consumers pay for products. However, their belief is invalid. Supply chains are developed out of necessity. Many firms do not possess the capabilities to meet the needs of their supply chain. For example, a firm may not have the adequate resources to distribute or store their products. Therefore, instead of investing in a system to deliver their products, the firm may decide to use a distributor with adequate resources. If the firm were to develop their own distribution system, the consumer will likely see an increase in the price paid for the firm's products to offset the cost of the firm's investment. Therefore, cutting out the middleman is not guaranteed to reduce the prices consumers pay for products. In addition, even if a firm is able to successfully cut out a middleman in their supply chain does not guarantee a price reduction for consumers. The firm may decide to increase their profit margin...
