Scenario 1
While passing Makoto’s house one night, Sarah sees a laptop computer left unattended on
Makoto’s porch. Sarah takes the computer, carries it home, and tells everyone she owns it.

After reading this weeks readings and going over each scenario I believe that I have the right knowledge to explain each type of crime committed by Sarah. For this scenario I believe that Sarah has committed Larceny. According to our reading larceny is when you unlawfully take something or carry away someone else's property and deprive the owner ship. By taking Makoto's computer and going home to tell everyone that she owns it she has committed larceny.

Scenario 2
While passing Makoto’s house one night, Sarah sees Makoto outside with a laptop computer.
Holding Makoto at gunpoint, Sarah forces him to give up the computer. Then Sarah runs away with it.

This type of crime that Sarah has committed is a violent crime first off because she held Makoto at gunpoint. However because she has taken the computer while holding him at gunpoint she has also committed robbery. This type of crime would land Sarah with more jail time or even prison time.

Scenario 3
While passing Makoto’s house one night, Sarah sees a laptop computer on a desk near a window. Sarah breaks the lock on the front door, enters, and leaves with the computer.

The type of crime that Sarah has committed in the scenario is burglary. If there had been someone home at the time Sarah could be charged with burglary of dwelling and would face even more charges but some courts don't need the building or house to be of dwelling because this type of law is used to protect personal property.
