El caso de negociación que voy a tratar tiene que ver con mi ingreso al Centro Comercial Santafé (CCSF). Dicha negociación tuvo lugar hace unos 8 meses aproximadamente y tuvo lugar con especialmente con la dirección de talento humano de la institución. Anteriormente yo me encontraba laborando en una empresa de consultoría en temas medio ambientales llamada Valoración Económica Ambiental S.A.S ( V.E.A), ubicada en la calle 96 con carrera 13. En esta compañía dure algunos años laborando, el clima laboral en general era placentero, ya que los compañeros de trabajo eran buenos y se realizaban actividades de integración que reforzaban los lazos entre todos los integrantes de la compañía. Sin embargo la empresa no era muy grande, las posibilidades de crecimiento en la misma eran muy escazas y adicionalmente lo que había que hacer en temas IT no era mucho.

Estando en V.E.A se presenta la oportunidad de participar en un proceso de selección para ingresar al área de IT del CCSF. En primera instancia agendan una cita para realizarme unas pruebas psicotécnicas, luego de esto, me llaman a entrevista con la dirección de recursos humanos. Es en este instante donde empieza formalmente el caso de negociación que analizaremos a continuación.

Las razones por la cuales yo quería cambiar de trabajo eran las siguientes: una mayor asignación salarial, mayores retos a nivel profesional, ya que el CCSF contaba con una infraestructura tecnológica mucho más grande. Adicionalmente mi nuevo cargo, seria de mayor responsabilidad y contaría con más personas a cargo. Las posibilidades de ascender dentro de la institución son mayores.
Por el otro lado el CCSF estaba en proceso de crecimiento (Aun lo sigue estando), y se estaban creando nuevos puestos de trabajo, especialmente en el área IT. Antes de yo entrar a formar parte de la organización, el área IT solo contaba con dos personas, las cuales se apoyaban con varios proveedores. Sin embargo esto claramente no era suficiente, debido a la expansión que estaba viviendo la organización en ese momento. Por tanto, la necesidad del centro comercial de reclutar personas con las habilidades y destrezas necesarias poder hacerle frente a los futuros desafíos era inminente.

En ese momento no estaba participando en ningún otro proceso de selección, por lo cual las partes se reducían a solo el CCSF. Por tanto mi mejor alternativa al acuerdo negociado era seguir trabajando en V.E.A y continuar con la búsqueda de nuevas oportunidades en otras organizaciones o entidades. En cuanto al interés que yo podía reconocer que ellos tenían, era el de encontrar una persona con amplios conocimientos en todo el tema de seguridad electrónica, lo cual tiene que ver con redes de detección de incendios y CCTV y administración de servidores y redes de telecomunicaciones. Modestia aparte, yo cumplía con la gran mayoría de requerimientos para el cargo, lo pudieron validar en las pruebas psicotécnicas en las cuales me fue muy bien. Además ellos eran conscientes que no era muy fácil encontrar una persona que contara con el perfil que estaban buscando.

Las partes potenciales eran otras empresas que contaran con una infraestructura tecnológica robusta y que no tuvieran el personal idóneo o no contaran con personal suficiente para gestionar y administrar esa gran plataforma.

Como se describe en apartados anteriores, para ambas partes estaban en juego una serie de intereses. Considero que pudimos ir mas allá de las posiciones, ya que si bien en un principio la asignación salarial estaba un poco por debajo de mis aspiraciones, pude convencerlos a ellos de que debían pagarme un poco más y que cada peso que iban a pagar por mi trabajo le iba a generar valor a la empresa, porque una infraestructura tecnológica robusta y bien manejada podía evitarles muchos dolores de cabeza y perdidas económicas, ya que la perdida de información y problemas con los servidores grandes pérdidas económicas. Esto sin contar con las pérdidas de vidas humanas, reputación y bienes materiales, que podría suscitar una falla en la red de detección de incendios.
En cuanto a la secuencia y las preferencias de proceso básico, podría decir que primeramente les di a conocer los beneficios que les traería incorporarme a su organización, tanto en la prueba, como en las diferentes entrevistas y no fui directamente a hablar acerca de la asignación salarial. Ellos también me dieron a conocer cuáles serían los beneficios con los que contaría al ser empleado de la organización. En primera instancia mostramos el valor que ambos podíamos crear y obtener del otro y luego si hablamos del tema económico.

Desde la perspectiva del diseño del acuerdo, creo que el acuerdo genero gran valor, ya que ambas partes quedamos satisfechas con la negociación. En mi caso conseguí mejorar mi asignación salarial, accedí a un cargo de mayor responsabilidad y con mayores retos a nivel profesional. Por parte de ellos, dieron por terminado el proceso de selección, lo cual se traducía en menores costos en términos económicos y de tiempo e integraron a un empleado que estaban necesitando con urgencia, ya que la infraestructura tecnológica estaba en crecimiento y demandaba una mayor fuerza laboral con las habilidades y destrezas necesarias.
En algún momento me dijeron que la asignación salarial estipulada para el cargo no era negociable, Sin embargo, no me deje llevar por esas palabras y logre mostrarles que los beneficios de contratarme serian muchos y que ese incremento en la asignación les iba a producir mucho más de lo que iban a invertir en mis servicios.
Considero que era mejor para ambas partes, el hecho de poder llegar a un acuerdo, ya que por mi lado, hubiera seguido en la rutina y estancado un empresa donde no podía crecer y no habían muchas cosas nuevas y diferentes por hacer. Por el lado del CCSF, hubieran seguido haciendo más procesos de selección, sin saber cuándo conseguirían a la persona idónea para ocupar el cargo y estarían corriendo grandes riesgos, ya que estarían demorándose más en contar con un persona que podría ayudarles a gestionar mejor la infraestructura tecnológica que contaban.
Finalmente la información fue bastante clara, en cuanto al perfil que ellos buscaban y las necesidades que tenían. Sin embargo por mi parte hubo un poco de reserva.
