This article points out the fact that stretching has always been favored as a goal to participate in prior to and after any physically demanding events but researchers have found this to be untrue. There was another study that was done recently and it supports the theory that people are supposed to stretch before and after each event that requires contraction of major muscle groups for a period of time (Francesco). In the article it supports the theory that most people have about stretching and how it is extremely important to do. Stretching has been known to help reduce stiffness, increase range of motion, and decrease one’s risk of injuries. There has also been other articles and researchers that have completed studies that display information …show more content…
With this evidence the researchers gathered their own theories and went on to do their on test in order to see if their results were the same or different from the research studies they found prior to the experiment. At the end of the experiment the researchers discovered that completing an excessive amount of dynamic stretching will in fact causes several complications that would be a problem for anyone’s body later on down the road. A few complications that would come about from constantly using dynamic stretching techniques would include a decrease in overall resistance strength, reduced performance (Costa). Also with this experiment the researchers discovered that even though static and dynamic stretching caused complications, dynamic stretching showed only negative effects on strengthening the muscles during any sport related tasks when constantly stretching before and after any …show more content…
ANOVA is known as the analysis of various which are just ways to analyze the data that was collected from any experiment. This concept helped them analyze the hamstring and quadriceps ratios, eccentric and concentric hamstrings and quadriceps during muscle activity. The three-way interaction is just the time of pre-stretching versus post-stretching multiplied by the condition of stretching versus controlled multiplied by velocity which is 60s˚⁻¹ versus 180s˚⁻¹.
