High- context country:
Kazakhstan can be considered as a high- context country because the social environment is more important to people. Compared to countries with a low- context culture, Kazakhstan is the country where traditions are honored and you need to build trustful relationships before making any business deals. At the workplace, the respect to older people is very important. You should greet them in a proper manner and take …show more content…
Personally, I associate Germany with precision and pedantry. Based on my researches, having a business in Germany might be challenging because Germans want to see a crystal clear picture of what is happening and what will happen. If you want to work with German company or organization, you have to be very organize and provide all details and facts. Compare to high- context countries, Germans don’t like a vague conversations, it has to be direct and concise. The relationship at the workplace is simple, either you work hard to get a promotion or you stay at the same level. Germans do not have an “older person” notion, everybody are equal. Personal characteristics, such as, self-reliance, independence, honesty, organizational skills, punctuality and etc, are very important. In my opinion, German people have tendency toward perfectionism. For example, my step-father is from Munich. He has a strong sense of order, he likes when everything is organized. Usually, he plans his trips 6 months before and knows what exactly he is going to do in half of year. The country is so multicultural that include millions of people with mixed race and various heritages. Most American people prefer comfort style of living. Clothing style strictly depends on social status. Business workers or official employees have to follow dress code, same as for example, restaurant employees have to wear uniform. However, the majority do not bother about what to wear, they prefer casual style of clothes, such as, jeans, boots, t-shirts, sneakers and etc. American business culture is based on hard work. If you show your willingness to achieve goals you will always be rewarded. As a low- context country, people from the US use direct style of communication. You should articulate your thoughts and decisions. Facts and details is very important because they do not rely on what is not proved. Another important aspect about having a business in the US is communication. Through communication all misunderstandings and conflicts can be resolved, therefore, you should constantly be involved in a process. For Americans, time matters. Projects, business plans, and other assignments have to be on time. Time management and organizational skills should adhere. Other personal characteristics, such as punctuality, respect and trust are the most important parts of a successful business.
