...Business-Lifestyle Fitness University of Phoenix-BUS/475 May 30, 2011 Susan Horvat Conceptualizing a Business-Lifestyle Fitness Throughout the history of human life, life expectancy averages have dramatically increased as we become more educated and aware of how to live longer. In the early 20th century, life expectancy has increased from 47.3 years of age to nearly 77 years of age in 2009 (Polan & Taylor, 2007). As we look at today’s awareness on health, most people are aware of early childhood vaccinations, government spending and debate on health care reform, and the growing debate on childhood obesity. The more we become concerned with the quality of life and prevention of many health diseases, life expectancy will continue to gradually increase. One popular approach to increasing awareness about healthy lifestyles includes the focus on maintaining a healthy eating lifestyle and living actively to ensure the human body is strong in every sense. More companies and businesses have started offering healthy alternatives to their product lines to remain competitive with the growing health awareness trends of most consumers. However, one aspect of healthy living which is just as important as healthy eating or awareness is the personal one-on-one guidance when concerning making the right food choices and fitness activities that individuals need. This industry has not been widely accepted or positively viewed as affordable and necessary. Lifestyle Fitness-Who...

Psychology and Health Problems

...unhealthy lifestyle consists of stress, depression, eating high fat foods, and not exercising enough. The more a person knows about how to control their stress levels will help them to deal with some of the diseases that they might get and will also help them to live healthy to control the risk of getting any unhealthy diseases.   In this paper I will strive to describe what the multifactorial model is and how it relates to the diagnosis of illnesses. I have also selected two health problems which I will explain what role psychology has played in understanding and managing these problems. The health problems that I have selected are coronary heart disease and menstrual problems. The multifactorial model is described as the belief that health and illnesses are a function of several factors that involve biological, psychological, and cultural domains, and how they interact with each other (Nevid & Rathus, 2005). People might wonder how some people become ill easily and some don’t, or maybe why some people are affected by health problems while others are not. According to the multifactorial model there isn’t one answer to why this happens. There are many factors that include genetics and lifestyle choices. Genes play a role in a person having a chance of getting certain diseases, but they do not guarantee that the disease will be passed down from generation to generation. If cancer runs in a family, then this is a sign that the person should try to live as healthy of a lifestyle as...

Spiritual Healthy Lifestyles

...Running Head: SPIRITUAL HEALTHY LIFESTYLE Spiritual Healthy Lifestyle Controlling Stress through the Power of Faith and Prayer MLF Wayland Baptist University Dr. J Abstract There are six main components that pertain to maintaining a person’s health and wellness and one of the most important component that affects all the others is a person’s spiritual health. Stress is the number one attribute that can hinder, detract from, and impact a person’s quest for a healthier lifestyle of living. Becoming spiritually healthy is a unique experience for each individual and cannot be achieved without prayer and faith. Nothing promotes health of body and of soul more than a spirit that is fed directly through prayer. When a person is seeking a healthier life they should ultimately focus on improving all six components of wellness that includes physical, emotional, social, occupational, spiritual, and intellectual. To be completely satisfied in life they must lead a balanced life and the only way to be balanced is to be connected with God and become spiritually healthy and whole. Spiritual Healthy Lifestyle Controlling Stress through the Power of Faith and Prayer Being healthy is an important aspect in everyone’s life. However, many people don’t realize that there is more than just physical health involved in obtaining the optimum level of health (Fleharty, 2009). During my studies of health and social care I have looked at the impact on people's health and attitudes on the correct health choices. This shows that not everyone in the population are choosing to live healthy lifestyles, they are choosing to live unhealthy and damaging their bodies (which may be without them knowing). The research that I will be caring out as a group is to see if people do know about their own living standards and if they are generally healthy. This will then give me a brief understanding if people are choosing to ignore the information that it is provided. In my questionnaire, I am aiming to find out what people think a healthy lifestyle is and if they personally think that they are healthy. ...is wealth.” Basically with this everyone can easily realize that how much the health is important for a human being. To be a one everyone should maintain a very nice and fit health. Most of us know that if you wanted to have a good life, you should have a healthy lifestyle. The things that come to my mind when I heard lifestyle is the kind of food a person eats and how a person treats himself or herself. From my point of view, I would like to define healthy Lifestyle as the comparison of our daily habits, our eating habits, and our exercise habits etc. The health is of two kinds: one is Physical Health and the other is Mental Health. The physical health one may attain by eating healthy foods. One should not allow himself / herself to eat too much fast-food and junk food, to smoke, and to drink those alcoholic drinks just for the enjoyment of taste. It will eventually affect his / her health and make him / her ill. Mental health one can maintain or improve by reading or listening to something positive. Which makes him motivated and remove negativity form his mind. Also like to add prayer and faith in god in this part as it do the same thing and makes ones calm and give the piece of mind. One should make the habit of routine exercise. It does not necessarily have to be something like heavy exercises of body building etc. Just make one’s body moving by walking or by joining a gym. I think healthy lifestyle should also include having a proper diet, enough sleep. Besides...
