Dear A&D:
I have recently been informed by the staffing team about my allocation to one of your projects (DS) for the next one year. I wanted to write to you personally to express my concerns regarding this assignment.
I have been a responsible and dedicated employee of the firm for the last 5 years and have contributed to my best abilities and utmost dedication to the progress of the company. As you are aware, I have decided to move on to pursue my education further and complete a management program to harness my true potential. I would first like to express my gratitude for the support that I have enjoyed since I informed the team about my intentions, a huge credit for this goes to you and the homely and comfortable working environment you have created for all of us.
I have been involved with the DS project initially and I am aware that probably that is a factor you considered when allocating me with the team there to maximize my utility. However, as I had described in my previous report about the project, I feel that the team is technically well equipped to handle the project but lacks management guidance and leadership to succeed. Just as you are, even I am really passionate about the success of the DS project but I feel that my technical knowledge and limited management skills would not be able to do justice to the needs of the team at the moment. In fact, it was during my time with the DS team as an engineer that I realised the significance of a management education in our business and how it would be useful for my career growth coupled with my experience here.
My time at the firm is limited and as I leave I don’t want to be remembered as the member who
