The Pyramids

...Materials scientist, Joseph Davidovits, that holds the spotlight of many historians and scientists, he is an International renown French Scientist, born in 1935, working in France, Europe, USA, Australia and China. Most Egyptologists reject the idea, put forth in the mid-1980s by French chemist Joseph Davidovits, that the pyramids contain concrete. Barsoum’s team took a fresh look at 15 samples using scanning- and transmission-electron microscopes. The samples contain ratios of elements, such as calcium and magnesium, which do not exist in nearby limestone. These observations suggest that other substances were added to make a concrete mix. I choose theory number two as the best one to explain the mystery, the pyramid is such an awesome piece of history and just unimaginable to the human mind for such an structure to stand for many years and the fact that...

...TIPS ON HOW TO BE AWESOME 1 Make friends with people around you. Practice starting good conversation. Humor makes people comfortable, and will help you form bonds with others. To form closer bonds, you can hold a sleepover or have a party with people you'd like to get to know better. Parental consent comes first, though. 2 Don’t worry about what others think of you. Everyone's different and everyone is unique. Also, don't change in order to fit in. If the popular girls are wearing something amazing, that does not mean you have to have the exact same thing to be awesome. 3 Be active. Don't just sit there and be lazy, stand around with a racket occasionally.Have fun while you're being active or playing sports. Getting active will help keep you healthy. Regular exercise can improve your mood and relieve stress, ultimately making you a happier person. 4 Try to do well in school. Ask for help if you need it. It's okay to get a bad grade once in a while, as long as you tried your best. It is awesome to get good grades, so pay attention in class and put in the effort, especially math! Math and science aren't just subjects for boys. 5 Develop your skills and talents. Skills take time to develop and effort to master. Different skills and talents are good conversation starters. People will soon be asking you to teach them new skills and vice versa. This can be in any field: gymnastics or sports in general, art, music, trivia, computer programming—you name it. Make sure...

How the environment affected the people on earth and what precautions should we adopt so we can get along with it. It also is important because you get to know more about your earth. The simple answer is, because it's awesome. Otherwise, Earth Science is very important in understanding how our world works. It has many different applications, from oil and mining, to waterways and seas, to understanding Earth History, and to engineering and building, as well as many others. Because you want to know about the Earth? Or because you think that the qualification will help you to get the type of job that you want. Favorite Brand Paper

...yellow, green, and blue striped upper case S lying flat on under the P. Sony’s brand name logo is very recognizable because it is their name, however, I feel that it lacks a certain quality that would promote the brand; there is nothing special about their logo. I think that Sony’s logo for their PlayStations does a superior job promoting the brand because whenever someone sees PlayStations PS logo they immediately recognize it as PlayStation; it is far more eye catching than just the word Sony. The second reason I like Sony is because of VR. There’s something so fantastically science-fiction about the concept of virtual reality. It’s the closest thing we have to jetpacks and hover-boards, those futuristic technologies we watched on TV as kids, and read about in books. And with virtual reality, we’ll be able to finally drive in flying cars and take trips to the moon. Because VR is so steeped in science-fiction, I can’t help but also recall the dire warnings: People lost in alternate worlds, virtual reality junkies, incapable or unwilling to unplug. Perhaps anti-social isn’t even the right word—unsocial, detached, and isolated. When we play games on the TV or our PC or phone, we’re often playing in proximity to others, and for better or worse the experience is often shared. VR encourages a new kind of selfishness. One really cool, really crucial feature of Sony’s Project Morpheus is the ability to mirror the VR screen onto your TV, allowing other people to play alongside you without...

...California Science Center Ecosystems When I entered the extreme zone I thought it was incredible I started with the ice room as soon I entered it felt as if I was inside my fridge at home I thought the ice wall was incredible it was interesting to leave my hand print there. Also to be able to see the clothes they wear out there and what it is made of was interesting. Its hard to imagine how animals can adapt to this kind of weather it seems like we are still finding it hard to live out there especially with our technological advances. The climate puzzle was a little hard but plan to go back to take a closer look at some of these things. The desert was well put I think they captured exactly what they were going for and that was to make it seem like a real desert. I was really amazed when I noticed that there were bats in this exhibit and to think that there are bats in the desert I guess it was something that I never thought of I was use to the thought of bats being in caves in the forest something like the movie “Ace Ventura”, so it was something that most definitely broadened that part of my knowledge. Also the rainstorms that happen so rarely in the desert but when it does it goes big. For animals to adapt to this kind of weather is incredible with nowhere to go it really is the survival of the fittest with no water in sight with that kind of heat. The deep sea exhibit was quick for me but I had the chance to play with the roving robot and it’s interesting because...

...Running head: ADULT LEARNING THEORY: ANDRAGOGY1 Adult Learning Theory: Andragogy Jonathan S. Ponce American Public University System Author Note Jonathan Ponce for COLL 100, American Public University System, taught by Instructor Anthony Underhill ADULT LEARNING THEORY: ANDRAGOGY2 Abstract The andragogy theory can best be defined as the art and science of helping adults learn. This paper will explore exactly what the andragogy theory is and how it differs from pedagogy. A few examples of earlier andragogy strategies used in adult education were group discussions, interviews, and joint problem solving sessions. Now a days we see online tools such as discussion forums and blogs being used online to promote learning among adult learners. Simply put, andragogy is an organized and sustained effort to assist adults to learn in a way that enhances their capacity to function as self directed learners. ( Mezirow 1981) But does this method really only apply to adults? Could it be used by the younger learners before they reach adulthood? Is either method greater or more efficient than the other? Though mostly seen as a useful tool in adult education, studies into andragogy have shown that there are flaws within the core principles that conflict with its purpose of being a more...
