Los medios de comunicación es algo que la gente le gusta ser actualizado sobre. Hoy en día, los periódicos son una moda pasajera y la prensa amarilla se está convirtiendo más popular. El aumento de la prensa amarilla no es bueno para la gente porque es sólo sobre las celebridades y la información es irrelevante. Necesitamos volver a los periódicos reales. Al privilegiar el entretenimiento sobre la información los medios de comunicación si han permitido que se propague la frivolidad, el esnobismo y la vulgaridad en la cultura estadounidense. La prensa amarilla es culpable. Mucha de la información de la prensa amarilla es falsa. La prensa amarilla escribe sobre escándalos que no son verdad la mayoría de las veces. Un ejemplo de la mentira de la prensa amarilla es cuando el National Enquirer dijo que Michael Jackson fue asesinado, cuando en realidad tomó una sobredosis de drogas. Los títulos extravagantes atraen la atención de la gente, ya que parecen interesantes. Los títulos manipulan al lector en el pensamiento del titular es verdadero. El lector no sabe los artículos son falsos, por lo que la prensa amarilla es culpable. Es triste que la prensa amarilla mienta para vender más revistas. La prensa amarilla es malo para la gente porque le daño la inteligencia de la gente. Según un estudio, las personas que leen la prensa sensacionalista tienen un vocabulario más pequeño que las personas que leen el periódico (Burns). Este es un daño a nuestra sociedad, ya que hace que nuestro lenguaje más básico. La compañía que produce la prensa amarilla es el culpable del cambio. Utilizan un vocabulario básico que todos pueden entender. Los tabloides son una mala influencia en nuestra generación. Distorsionan la vista de las celebridades y los describen mal. De acuerdo con este argumento, 60% de los estudiantes que dicen las mujeres retratadas en revistas puede ser un reflejo de la realidad, los investigadores están preocupados de que los jóvenes lectores formar imágenes deformadas del género femenino (Yau). Esto podría causar las mujeres jóvenes para creer que necesitan adaptarse a un cuerpo de un modelo. Muchas de las imágenes son cambiadas. Periódicos reflejan la verdad en la sociedad. No hay imágenes falsas. Sin embargo, la gente no es en falta para el aumento de la prensa amarilla. La revista, In Touch, sólo tiene una precisión de 21% (O’Connor). La mayoría son mentiras y las personas piensan que el artículo es cierto, por lo que dicen a los demás como si fuera cierto. También, en una tienda, los tabloides están cerca de la caja, ya que son una compra impulsiva. La prensa amarilla es asequible por lo que la gente quiere comprarla. Recomiendo que no compres la presa amarilla. Para resumir, la prensa amarilla es mala para nuestra sociedad, ya que nos hacen más estúpida. Un gran parte de la información no es verdadera y incluye artículos sobre celebridades y no sobre la economía del mundo. Es una noticia irrelevante. El sólo propósito de la prensa amarilla es entretener y ganar dinero. No es para aprender, pero el público no lo sabe. Es una lástima que los periódicos no sean populares hoy en día. Espero que resolvamos este problema.

...A man walks into a gas station to ask for driving directions. It's clear to the attendant that the man is having trouble articulating his words as he speaks a foreign accent. The attendant listens impatiently and starts to look away, less than a minute later the attendant answers the man in a slow and booming voice; laughing between some words here and there and mockingly impersonating the man's pronunciation and timbre. The man, looking surprised, says thank you and leaves the store. The scene described here illustrates one of many personal observations I've made throughout my life about the influence of language on perception. Misunderstanding and ignorance about cultural differences give rise to a malignant social disease, that those who speak a foreign language e.g. "broken English" are considered to be inferior.
