In today’s time many Christians, or church goers has separated themselves from the church. What individuals do not understand is that in order for the church to replicate Jesus, each individual must be focused on Jesus and not everybody and everything around them. This simply mean that we ought to focus directly on the great commandant as mentioned by Town’s at the beginning of chapter 9. This is the only way the light Jesus cast on believers may be reflected to those outside the church. The next thing that the local church can do is become less of an organization and more of an organism. In the Organization of the Church, Towns spends significant time discussing the need for organization of the church, but only gives two sentences to the organism of the church. Towns himself states, “It is a reflection of the life and power of the Lord Jesus Christ who indwells it” (Organization of the Church). The power of Jesus Christ is exposed by vigorously engaging in the example He set for us with His life. The local church should express its power in service to others just as Jesus showed his disciples. Finally, the local church might repent, renew, and, revive as Town’s suggests at the end of chapter 9 (p. 109). A good place to start is at Philippians 2:3-16: which states, “Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.” God used the experience of pride to show humans humility. We as individuals must remember that the Church does not live by the focus and actions of others, but by the focus

...FOR BLYTHE Acknowledgments My profound thanks to three dear friends with whom I have the great luxury of working: my editor, Jason Kaufman; my agent, Heide Lange; and my counselor, Michael Rudell. In addition, I would like to express my immense gratitude to Doubleday, to my publishers around the world, and, of course, to my readers. This novel could not have been written without the generous assistance of countless individuals who shared their knowledge and expertise. To all of you, I extend my deep appreciation. To live in the world without becoming aware of the meaning of the world is like wandering about in a great library without touching the books. The Secret Teachings of All Ages ———————————— FACT: In 1991, a document was locked in the safe of the director of the CIA. The document is still there today. Its cryptic text includes references to an ancient portal and an unknown location underground. The document also contains the phrase “It’s buried out there somewhere.” All organizations in this novel exist, including the Freemasons, the Invisible College, the Office of Security, the SMSC, and the Institute of Noetic Sciences. All rituals, science, artwork, and monuments in this novel are real. ———————————— Prologue House of the Temple 8:33 P.M. The secret is how to die. Since the beginning of time, the secret had always been how to die. The thirty-four-year-old initiate gazed down at the human skull cradled in his palms. The skull was hollow, like...
